I don't think that's the issue with the Orioles. They just couldn't re-sign Burnes and then added no other pitchers to make up for it. They had a decent enough free agency on the offensive side.

If this game is a preview of our true potential for this year, this will be a fun summer

I think Houck said something about making an adjustment with Bailey after the 1st inning yesterday? If so, that’s encouraging. He was pretty solid after that so it’s a good sign either way.

On the contrary, here are some actual bright spots I noticed from sitting through two games in the cold today: 1. We weren’t striking out as much today. When you put the ball in play good things happen. 2. A bunch of the outs, particularly with men on base, were hard hit. I kept looking up at the videoboard and seeing EVs of 90+. We are making solid contact more often than not. Not all of those are going to drop in. That’s baseball. But, it is however, a very good sign.

He’s far and away my favorite player on this team. I resonate so much with the way he carries himself and plays the game

Multiple people around me are yelling at Duran and saying he needs a tennis racket, which is at best moderately annoying and at worst totally uncalled for. The dude made one mistake and the world is never going to let him forget it.

The streak is over. First loss I’ve seen in person since August 2022. But I wasn’t supposed to go to this game. Only picked up a ticket last night.

We’re taking good ABs and hitting the ball hard. Hopefully that trend sticks around

I will be at both games tomorrow. I purchased tickets for tomorrow’s game about a month ago. Figured I might as well see both games while I’m up there

Aaron Judge is my favorite player in the game. I have no issue in saying that as a Red Sox fan, and really don't care if any of you want to give me s*** for it. I just love everything about who he is and the way he portrays himself to the world.

Through 24 games, I think we're in a pretty good place. It hasn't been anywhere near perfect, but we've won games in different ways. There have been days where pitching saved us, and days were hitting saved us. I'm more excited about this team than any team we've had since 2021. We need to stay patient with our slow hitters. One day at a time. Story is quietly putting together a hell of an April though.

My in person win streak lives on!!

No game thread up for tomorrow yet, and since the game is so early I’ll post this here: After 18 months away, tomorrow I make my grand return to Fenway. At this time a year ago, I didn’t think I would be back for quite a while. Everything that happened to me in Boston that caused me to move away still hurt too much, and I didn’t think I could bear the memories that came with being back in the city. But here I am. I’m ready, and I cannot wait. Some of you probably remember that the Red Sox are on quite the winning streak when I attend the game in person. I believe it’s somewhere in the neighborhood of 13-15 wins in a row that I have seen, dating back to the start of the 2023 season. In addition to tomorrow, I will be in Cleveland on Saturday. I will also be following the team out west to Seattle and SF in June, seeing all 6 games in those cities. I also intend to be in DC for the 4th of July and perhaps Wrigley as well a few weeks after. in other words, if my win streak lasts through all of that, and if we make the playoffs, I figure I should make my way back to Boston for that as well.

It must suck being a White Sox player

I just stepped out of Logan Airport. This weekend is the first weekend I am back in Boston after moving away in September 2023. I will be at Monday’s game. So many emotions going through my head, both good and bad, but excited to get back to Fenway!

I don't think they are as bad as their record indicates at the moment. Their offense has been even more anemic than ours, and the weather here has been quite bad for most home games. Neither one of those trends will last. NL Central is very mediocre this year, other than the Cubs. They can even the ship. Whether they do or not remains to be seen

I won't be either. I still have my Pirates season tickets, as masochistic as that may be
