  1. I’m in the first row behind the Sox bullpen. Bello looks good in his warmup. Gorgeous day for baseball!
  2. I saw the Sox at Wrigley in 2022 so I don’t feel a compulsive need to go again just yet. Plus this trip made a dent in my bank account. Maybe I should take a few months to rest up before I go see Oregon play Penn State in September!
  3. Hey well my long in person win streak ended in April in Cleveland, and I also got to witness the 8-0 stinker in Seattle on Tuesday. But I guess when you go to 6 games in a row like I am this week, you’re bound to see a loss here or there
  4. Anybody want to fund my trip to Wrigley next month? if not, I’ll still probably be in DC on the 4th of July. Just a 3.5 hour drive from Pittsburgh
  5. Yessir! Was in all 3 games in Seattle and now I’m in SF for the weekend! Been a blast so far
  6. Best game I’ve seen this trip! Felt like a playoff win, especially after the Yaz strikeout to get out of the 8th
  7. How about Hammy hitting the ball on the screws twice so far?
  8. Wind is blowing pretty strongly out to RF at the moment, but the forecast has the wind dying down after 8. Should be interesting. Keep the ball down, Hunter.
  9. And the breeze is quite stiff here today. I just spent 3-4 hours walking around in a hoodie and sweats and I never got warm enough to take them off.
  10. The Yankees are losing close games with sometimes sloppy defense. Remind you of anybody?
  11. Only 3 hits but we were hitting the ball hard. There are probably 3 more hits taken away by the Seattle defense
  12. Eh, I was a little chilly in the CF bleachers, although it’s my fault for not brining a long sleeve
  13. Win this series. I don’t particularly care how. It would be huge for the psyche of this team after the trade
  14. Hey, moon! I am pretty active this week as I am on vacation following the team out west. Otherwise I have had a busy spring and have not always prioritized the Talksox community. Anyway, having so much change since Opening Day isn’t necessarily a bad thing. For pitching, it’s a result of injuries, and those players getting healthy. Refsnyder and Romy know their roles, and it’s nice to see them being rewarded with more playing time.
  15. Same here, and I am quite sick of hearing about the trade. So much so that I ignored a guy on the Seattle light rail last night who made a comment about it upon seeing my Red Sox attire. I am of the firm belief that we are better off without him. I don't want guys on my team that don't want to be here, no matter how good they are. I also don't want guys on my team that think they are more important or valuable than anybody else. Regardless of the actual sequence of events leading up to the trade, both of these statements are true of Devers.
  16. Curious to see how tonight's game goes. Can we push the streak to 7 ahead of Crochet tomorrow? Buehler looked good in his last start but there are still some things I am concerned with. The offense better get going a little bit because we can't expect our pitchers to pull a Houdini act every night. But, at the same time, the bullpen is getting more and more rest and that is more important than perhaps anything else right now.
  17. Clutch recovery there by Giolito. Striking out the top 3 Seattle hitters with the bases loaded is impressive
  18. So this is definitely the weirdest vibe I've ever had getting ready to go to a game in person. I'm going to closely watch the mood of the team over the first 1-2 innings and see how they look. In theory, if Devers was truly unhappy and demanded a trade - as has been reported - then I wouldn't expect the team to come out looking that defeated tonight. I would certainly expect the offense to struggle on this trip, but the way the starting pitching has been throwing the ball lately, I would still imagine we compete in ballgames. But, nobody really knows for sure. Either the players will give up on the season, or they will galvanize themselves and have fun out there. There is no third outcome.
  19. I heard about this trade while on my flight to Seattle, so I had the rare opportunity to digest it in a vacuum, free of social media opinions and the influence of others. If he really wanted out, that’s fine. I think we’re better off without him if that is the case. The future of this team are versatile athletic position players, and he is neither of those things. Does it suck? Yes, but the business world is fragile. No job is safe. And this, after all, is just a business. Do I think the season is automatically over now? Nope, but we’ll see. Did I think we were a playoff team this year before this? Nope.
  20. What a fun weekend series! We’re starting to play cleaner baseball paired with some pitching, and we’re finally getting some 1 run games in the W column! I am checking this morning from the airport. I am on my way to Seattle and San Francisco. 6 games in 7 days in two beautiful cities! You know I’ll bring the good in person mojo to keep this train chugging along!
  21. Glad we didn't squander that 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Should have gotten 4 or 5, but 2 is better than nothing I suppose
