  1. Why have any suspensions? They were going after Ortiz and pitcher was taunting. This is the MLB not little league. Anyway, appeal that s***.
  2. Lackey has shown signs of improvement? I would say he has shown signs that he is capable of pitching better. However, I still think that every time he goes out to the mound we could get something horrid or something decent. There is no chance of telling. Improvement would be if I was under the impression we'd get 6.0 IP and 4.00 ERA majority of the time. Edit: Add to the rotation. Reddick & Drew can take RF. There shouldn't be such a worry about the #1 offense.
  3. Garza would be great. Edwin Jackson could be cool -- remember that no-hitter he threw (last year?) w/ 127 pitches. We need a solid new starterrrrrr! I hope Theo makes the right move.
  4. The thing is, our RF is poor only offensively and yet our offense is still #1. JD Drew is a good defensive player. Reddick is on fire at that plate. We don't need a new guy to play RF we just don't. Especially for HALF a season. We need a pitcher or pitchers. Our bullpen though performing well could always use more additions perhaps a lefty. We could definitely go for a solid addition to our rotation, too. Miller is brand new. We can't expect that much out of him. Lackey is.. wild... I mean, it seems only logical to me to add pitchers. The #1 offense doesn't NEED more offense. The pitching rotation NEEDS a solid addition.
  5. I'm pretty sure we wont be acquiring Beltran, ya'll. We don't need him.
  6. We should talk more about why CC is a good addition and not why he doesn't work with the Sox. That's such sad talk in the first half year of his 8 years with us, you know?
  7. the anticipation is killing me. Will we get someone new for RF or a new SP? or Reyes (not!)? I really think a SP would be best. #1 offense doesn't need a new RF that bad, right? Seems like we need a new pitcher.
  8. I would rather see Doubront do some pitching for us than leave us for a temp. player.... Get a SP please. RF is fine -- our offense is #1
  9. Should also say that Pedroia has hit phenomenally in the 4th spot. I'd like to see it TRIED with Ells-CC-Gonzo-Pedey just to test it out.... this would also help with minimizing the arguments over this even though no one here has no real say in it.
  10. What the point of this? We spent 128(?) MILLION on him its not like he is going ANYWHERE.
  11. Garza would be a sweet addition. I don't think we need to worry about out RF production. We are 1st in the top 4 categories (ESPN.com) --> BA, OBP, Runs, Slugging. We NEED Buch to come back healthy... any news on his back? Anyway, can't WAIT to see what happen at the end of the month.
  12. Um, born & raised in Boston (well, the Northshore) & only just moved to CA, so... since 1989.
  13. If Gonzo can rack up 23 RBIs he'll be at a 100 for the break! haha! Would be cool if he hit 80 though. go Sox ! ! !
  14. Just wish the trade deadline would arrive so I can find out what will happen!! Ahhhh! the suspense!!
  15. I'm happy to see someone new from the farm getting the start. I like it better than seeing Aceves or Atchinson get the start. I hope he does well. But, hopefully Beckett and Buch and Lester are all going to be fine relatively quickly after the All-Star otherwise we are in for a long, long, long second-half.
  16. http://www.nesn.com/2011/07/report-andre-ethier-interested-in-joining-red-sox.html Ethier would be a sweet addition.
  17. Another HR by Reddick leads me to believe we can spend our money on a SP. RF should be Reddicks for now or even for the season...
  18. We can definitely win this one. I'm assuming Beckett will have no more than 2ER. Also, ya'll have seen how well Pedroia does in the clean-up spot? I wonder, if CC batted second we could have a top of the order that looks like, Ellsbury-Crawford-Gonzalez-Pedroia-Youk-Ortiz-Salty-Reddick-Scutaro....... Not so on topic but just thinking that COULD work if CC's OBP were it's typical and not low as it has been.
  19. Why do tall pitchers have more issues than shorter ones? Miller has shown he has good stuff in AAA. I hope that "stuff" begins to translate. Red Sox have good, I assume I don't know, pitching staff to help Miller get into a groove.
  20. The Beard. & is wicked awesome.
  21. He will miss at least his first start after the All-Star, pretty sure. Could be two. I bet Buch will miss at least two, too. /sigh Aceves & Atchison will probably be the pitchers. I wish they'd give some kids from the farm a chance. I mean, why not!
  22. No one plays through injuries anymore.
  23. typically a Lat Strain is a 2-4 Week injury. So, we win but at the cost of losing Lester for some time? Um... Not worth it.
