    "great guy" doesn't mean he's a high caliber player. Definitely below average. Good bye Aviles, you'll be forgotten soon. Red Sox clearly will not be competitive next year... inless they pull a "Brad Pitt" like the Ahtletics. not having a medium SS in Aviles isn't a big deal. Who cares if we lose 88 games or 120? If the Red Sox lose 145 games I'm happy for the draft picks.

    No thanks!! Home grown talent for cheap, plz. I don't mind the FO spending money on pitchers when their available but even then... Use your draft picks, develop them, use them. 2013 & 2014 will be re-building. Maybe some pitchers emerge for 2015-2016. BB needs to a baseball-clone to run this team.

    Let's go Sox!! I haven't been on here in a while. Lost my job, moved to Pasadena(CA), and have no interwebz in the apartment till Sept. 8th ARGH!!! This LA-BOS deal is the best thing ever. Adrian can be re-created and I view him as the ONLY LOSS in the deal for the Sox. I only wish LA could have taken Lackey too!! GO RED SOX!! 2014 is your year!! hahaa

    I was thinking the same. If they win 2 against Texas they'll have to drop 2 to the Guardians. I suppose they could take two from the Guardians but afterwards, a four to five game lose streak would be inevitable. Oh well, thus is the Red Sox 2012. Offensive inconsistency and deflated pitching (however, Buchholz looks like our version of King Felix now, so props). Next season could be great though (like this season right? ha): Doubront will improve with less walks. Lester looks like he's figuring it out (we'll see) so he should bounce back to perform to his elite level next season (pitching is tough, down seasons happen...), and who knows if Morales can be a starter, then there is Free Agency. I'm positive for next season. I hope CC performs like his TB years.
