  1. Dont get your hopes up. Sox say they are keeping Beckett.
  2. He's given up 8 runs in his last 6 starts. Along with a shut out in TB not to mention he almost shut us out. He could help out for a low cost.
  3. Sox have shown interest in Jason Vargas from Seattle. I think he would be a nice addition.
  4. Any word when the game is going to start up?
  5. Carl Crawford is reportedly on a "four-day program," according manager Bobby Valentine. In other words, he'll be scheduled regular off-days until further notice. Crawford is hitting just .219/.265/.219 since returning from the disabled list earlier this month. Cody Ross figures to see semi-regular starts in left field. 6. Weither or not we are buyers or sellers at the deadline, I do not trust Cherries decision on what he thinks is best for this franchise's future. He has made nothing but boneheaded transactions that has this team headed into the wrong direction. There is no doubt that some kind of move needs to be made at the deadline...I guess what I am trying to say is I don't feel comfortable with BC having the future of this franchise in his hands.
  7. Nobody gets paid in Tampa. They have to play lights out to get a better contract through FA.
  8. There's the Crawford I know.
  9. Aviles is about as cool as his batting stance.
  10. You must have not seen the blown dp before he came up. That would have ended the inning. Moron.
  11. If Aviles wasn't playin today we may be looking at a 2-0 ball game
  12. Cano is going to mash one here.
  13. Anyone else just hear peddy say that his back is killing him while they showed him in the dugout?
  14. The Red Sox recently sent Carl Crawford to get his vision checked. Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe says Crawford's eyes "tested fine," so they can't be blamed for his .219/.265/.219 start at the plate (or his .255/.289/.405 line last season). It's far too soon to give up on the soon-to-be 31-year-old for fantasy purposes, but he's certainly not inspiring confidence that he'll get things straightened out anytime soon. Jul 27 - 3:43 PM Source: Nick Cafardo on Twitter This should boost CCs confidence. FO is try to find the reason why he is so terrible.
  15. :thumbdownLooks like I forgot how to spell lose.
  16. ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Red Sox are aggressive in their pursuit of Cubs' right-hander Ryan Dempster. Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago reported on Sunday that ten teams have shown legitimate interest in acquiring Dempster, so the Red Sox are one of many in the mix. Given that Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer are quite familiar with the Red Sox farm system, it will be interesting to see whether this will increase the chances of a deal. Dempster has five and ten rights, so the veteran right-hander has the ability to block any trade, but he has expressed willingness to join any contender. Source: Buster Olney on Twitter Jul 16 - 5:51 PM Idk if this is a good thing. I'd hate to loose a nice prospect for a pitcher on the way to the end of his career.
  17. Why send this kid down when he has been so productive when his number is called?
  18. Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that Roy Oswalt threw a bullpen session for the Phillies last week and the RedSox this week near his home in Mississippi. One source told Rosenthal that Oswalt "appeared to be in good shape" but was "more in spring-training mode than mid-season form," which is not surprising. Assuming Vance Worley's elbow injury is indeed minor as the Phillies have said, it would appear that the Red Sox would be a better fit for the veteran right-hander. But, Oswalt might prefer the familiarity with the Phillies. He figures to be pitching for someone around the All-Star break. source: http://rotoworld.com/headlines/mlb/361499/report-oswalt-throws-for-phillies-red-sox
  19. Is the wind blowing out?
  20. Reguardless of the situation, Sweeny needs to swing the bat on anything close. Not only to prevent the K but protect the runner trying to advance. It was poorly executed and as a result we get burned out of an inning.
  21. Did you not realize that Sweeny struck out?
  22. I wish Salty would realize he can't hit Left Handed.
  23. You're killing me smalls.
  24. I have no problem sending ross in that situation. Bobby tried to get something going with this dead offense. Why is nobody concerned with Sweeny watching a 3rd strike down the middle to get Ross thrown out?
  25. You aren't slow if you play center field. Have you ever played the sport?
