He then proceeded to take a no-hitter into the 9th while Tampa was preoccupied with trying to hit Brian Daubach. The june 2003 game against the Marlins in which we scored 10 runs before recording an out. Opening day 2005 at Fenway when Rivera got a long standing ovation as he was introduced. Manny serving as Damon's cut-off man Manny making a great catch, high-fiving a fan, and still doubling off the baserunner. Lester's no-hitter. I guess those were all red sox.     The good: Adrian f***ing Gonzalez, our resident magnificent bastard. The bad: Wake's knuckleball. Joe West's senility. The Ugly: getting pounded to the tune of 9 runs by one of the worst offenses in the game. Could we please beat a bad team for once?

    I'm a bit tired of the dredges of the AL having their 'breakout' games against ug. Now it's reached the point where we're really shooting ourselves in the balls in terms of making the postseason. I feel like it's impossible for this many good players to suck for this long, but I'm slowly being proven wrong. Something's a-gotta give.

At an abysmal 11-18, these Minnesota Twinkies have remarkably produced an even worse record than us thus far. As this season's trend has shown us however, that makes them the heavy favorites. But today is the day that we beat the odds and begin to punish teams that are actually worse than us. Sir Wakefield filled in admirably last Sunday and put us in position to win the game. It's not the first time he has bailed our asses out and surely will not be the last. The trend shall continue. After having something like 2 hits in the last 48hrs, the slumbering offense has finally gotten the chance to sleep off this week's abomination and is ready to wake up in a big way.
