  1. I suppose it's nice to have some competition for the 'perfect' season at least. :dunno:
  2. I'm on board as long as we never ever have cowbells. Nothing good can come of having cowbells.
  3. For the love of Lou Gorman, leadoff-walking Everett is inexf***ingscusable. It seems like we haven't been able to capitalize on any opportunities, while every little misstep on our end has lead to the worst possible outcome. We need to reverse that s*** or I'm going to go beat my husband.
  4. 1994 when I was in 3rd grade. Tim Naehring came to visit my elementary school and I started watching the games to follow his progress and got hooked that way. My dad also had a connection to Ben Mondor and I got to watch a bunch of PawSox games from the owner's box. It was one of those things that you think is kinda cool at the time, then reflect back on years later and realize what a lucky son of a bitch you really were. I wouldn't say I became a true die-hard until 2003 when they were drastically re-shaped by the new ownership. It was one of the most offensively packed lineups ever, and with Millar & company they were just freaking fun to watch. With the poetic nature of the '03 heartbreak and '04 justice, it was hard not to get sucked in at that point anyway.
  5. It seems like if it's not one thing than it's another. We had a couple games with good offense and the starting pitching shat the bed. Then we get a couple quality starts and the bats go cold and/or the bullpen implodes. One everything starts clicking together, then things will go our way more often. It wouldnt hurt for Ells & the dude with the long last name to wake up either. Especially after the great spring they had. Can't lose sight of the positives either. Lester actually had a good start in April, Papi actually has multiple home runs in April, A-Gon has been raking, Crawfish hasnt hit much but has shown what a force he can be when he gets on base. These gents will be bloody fun to watch when they get rolling.
  6. Hopefully coming home will be the momentum shift they need. I predict they randomly wake up at some point this weekend with one of those 17-2 frustration-induced thrashings against the Yankees and go on to reel off 8 in a row or so. Or perhaps it's wishful thinking before my fenway trip next week.
