  1. Stupid contract ? Jajaja stupid is our FO for let him go. He's been solid, durable and reliable for so many years. Not only one, MANY!...: reason why he got that contract. In the end, yr by yr he will make the money he made in Boston with his career numbers, regardless the cost of the money at the end of his contract. As anything in life, prime things cost and "a lot" and he is the cream of the cream... We all know you are a detractor of that contract, please stop banging this drum.
  2. Yup. Look what he did with us. Look what he did with Philly. There's no sign of decline or something there. He'll be solid the rest of his contract in Philly IMO given the facts.. He is durable, reliable, and solid. He's simply the best closer in the league. Yup, We should have resigned Pap, but our great FO again, didn't... Instead and as usual brought/trade a sack of overpaid busts :thumbdown
  3. Yup, since BJ got 70 M, Bourn will get at very least 100 M.
  4. Re-Looking Madson's numbers... Pretty impressive. IMO this was bargain. We'll see.
  5. Good question. I don't think so. My guess he's getting a lot more, reason why I think Angels made a good move with this contract.
  6. ... And even if Madson had failed for us, those 3.5 would have been symbolic given our long list of overpaid busts in the last 4 yrs.
  7. I prefer Madson over Bailey closing, any day.
  8. Is it just me or they simply do not know how to spend.... Geez the list is looooong and full of busts overpaid.
  9. Since when 3.5 M is a lot of money to this team?
  10. Zero cop-outs, it is true, straight up... do not cherry pick.
  11. Yes. Cherry pick. You need to think twice what you want write if you feel pointed.
  12. Hopefully it's only one bad season if he stays.
  13. You usually cherry pick and split numbers in order to justify the unjustifiable. Sorry, it's the way you are. Is still the pitching there? IDK. He has shown a decline, that is a fact. If you do not want to see that, is up to you. You split his numbers in order to prove that his pitching still there, hopefully still there... In the end...It's your opinion but nobody knows. Sorry but If he keeps posting high ERAs (hopefully no, if he stays), your splits will not have sense. He will suck, plain and simple. I'm not concerned about Lester's future, If he stays fine, If he walks fine... I'm concern because our FO office has not done nothing in order to fix this team. Almost forget, we have to be patience, like last off-season.
  14. Let's face it, he has shown a decline. It's funny how people split his numbers. Cherry Pickers. He was a 4.82 ERA pitcher last year, period. You do not have to be Einstein in order to know that he has had attitude/head problems since 2011, and unless they work with his mind, IMO he's cycled in Boston and needs to walk and find fresh air for his own good. If they want to keep him, fine... But do not fool ourselves pretending that he is a #1 or # 2 these days. He is a # 3 at best until he shows the opposite. We need arms. Quality arms. Cherington/FO need to focus on that.
  15. Sorry but IMO Lester is done in Boston. He could bounce back with another team, say KC, but not in Boston uniform. At this point his value is not that much... So if somehow you can sell him high, do it.
  16. You base your opinions on what we all saw last season. We were a blank check since our pitching was horrible. Saying that we need 2 pitchers is not rocket science. At this point we have a bunch of #3-5 pitchers at best. We just can not go like this.
  17. Been always his problem. He thinks that all we say are facts. He does not understand, it is all about opinions. Certainly, some are facts but mostly are OPINIONS. BTW I wrote IMO. Hahahaha. Sure! We see things eye to eye most of the times but we disagree at times; thing is that we do not need to insult or make the othe change a point of view or opinion. It's called prudence. ...again and as I said, hard to disagree with someone (you) you think (I) is right. Plain and Simple.
  18. Hard to disagree when you simply right.
  19. Totally agree. You need 2. Problem is that some already signed/traded and the few available will cost you tons since the pitching market has been reduced... This is why IMO you have to move fast and smart as GM specially when you have key and a lot of holes to fill. We'll see how it ends though, hopefully our FO has everything figured out.
  20. Oh boy...
  21. Geez... I remember that discussion... took like a week or something and some midnights Nevertheless I liked Nats last season. Next season they will be a very exciting team IMO, mostly with a healthy Strasburg.
  22. Thanks Sb, hopefully this guy is the solution in the OF the next 2 years.
  23. Hopefully something big is cooking in that regard. We just can not go like this.
