  1. I think he wanted to quote my post #33, probably he just mistook.
  2. I have no idea what is the criteria used to select those ST games, but checking out the schedule almost every NYY game is going to be transmitted. Here's the program. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/broadcasts/spring_mlbtv.jsp?&affiliateId=mediacenter
  3. Some simply won't accept a critic or an opinion against the team Fred, so do not worry u just keep posting as you just do.
  4. You should follow that advise too. Act like a man.
  5. Castillo sidelined.
  6. What do u mean with what spud? Sorry, I just eddited the post.
  7. no many Red Sox games are going to be transmitted on MLB.TV this ST while almost all NYY games will be.
  8. whoa whoa there, gallo. 1. I said that closers are who can handle the pressure better than other good arms in a BP staff. Plenty of examples and situations are out there. In fact most of the teams have a named player for that spot and they usually use those arms in those under-pressure environments because it is a special role. Sorry, It is a fact. 2. Set up arms are under pressure as well but it is not even comparable what a closer face in the ninth. Some set up arms evolve and become closers. Unfortunately some of them can not make that big step and stay in that role because when they give them the opportunity they piss in their pants. This is why closers are the best paid in a BP staff, because they are supposed to shut down games consistently through a season. 3. Leave your kitten alone, it doesn't have the fault. 4. What does the clutch thing has to do with my model? Nothing. In baseball just like in life, out there are intangibles you have to consider like the clutch thing and pressure. In fact when you bet when game is already started (on direct bets) your best ally is your eyes and experience, and the stats frequently do not tell you nothing. 5. Stop? Are you the only one who can emit opinions here?
  9. Yup, and is like saying that regular pressure faced in the 9th is just as the 4th, every single game.
  10. How many clutch situations will a player face in a regular season? Very few, I would say. So... Your approach is ok to me since the environment most of the times in a PO game is always under pressure and could recreate a clutch situation every time when a player is AB. The clutch situations happen time to time and while you need skills to perform well at those situations, I think that some players can handle better those kind of situations. As for pitchers, closers are always in that kind of environments and only one of two in a BP staff can handle those levels of pressure regardless they are good or not.... Look at 2013 Red Sox, asaide Koji, who else could close among those good arms? No one. They even gave him the ball a couple of times in the 8th in PO since the "clutch" situations and pressure involved was too much.
  11. You can say whatever the heck you are pleased to say Fred, for good or bad, just as anybody else here. If someone find out your posts irritant, they better put you on ignore or simply ignore what you say, instead of complaining everytime about everything you say.
  12. Or genius sabermetrician? Haha Next year I will try to make my first ST trip to FM. Seems like a great experience. At least this year I'm going to make the first two games of the season at Fenway, can't wait.
  13. Sounds great! Do not forget to give us feedback about how you see the kids performing mostly about Moncada (although not sure if he is invited to ST)
  14. LOL! Btw are you already there compadre, or when do you arrive?
  15. Me neither, but probably he found out something negative or something.
  16. IDK, but user somehow always get bothered when someone points out something about the team, still do not why, probably he should follow his common sense cliche. While some people make opinions about the team, some will always talk about other posters.
  17. Yup, no one aside Koji could close in 2013 .. And some of them (2013 BP) performed very well that year in their roles.
  18. People complaining about other people who is not even complaining already? Geez!
  19. Still I see Rosenthal and Nathan stick at the position until they s*** the bed. I do not see them sharing the position if they bounce back. But again, even conceding that there are only a handful of teams which will alternate the spot with different players from the beginning.
  20. Wonder which teams are going to go like this, this year. I think that most of the teams have a name for that role (closer) and until those names do not s***, they'll be stick there.
  21. And it magnifies even more in the 9th and when it is a close game.
  22. .... Because it is not enough to be good, but handle the pressure as well.
  23. .... And while they were a great team, without Koji we wouldn't win anything that year.
  24. Yeah, but those arms proved that could close. Regarding Tazawa and Breslow, yeah... They were great, but they can't close. Didn't they give the ball to Koji a couple of times in the 8th in POs because nobody in the BP could make the job done? ...That's kind of my point. While you can be a good reliever, only a few can handle the pressure in the 9th.
  25. Yeah! It is a role that not any realiver can perform well reason why they give the ball to pitchers who are great AND can handle those levels of pressure. Look at 2013 Red Sox. Without Koji, we wouldn't win the WS. Look at NYY, etc.
