  1. Well, thus far we are clogged, and it won't change drastically moving forward, IMO. Are they going to turn around and worth the money? That's really a tough question. IMO the only one who could have a chance to worth the money is Hanley and still we have to see it. Castillo could be an average OF at best, but does he worth that contract? C'mon!. Panda was a mistake since day one, and you know what I think about Porcello.
  2. Yeah I don't see this happening unless you eat most of his contract or you give up top prospects in a possible trade. Pablo has very little value these days.
  3. LOL! your love for Ben is beyond this planet Kim (just kidding). Ben is very gone because he left a mess in the last two years. Anyways hopefully DD's era give us new satisfactions.
  4. Seems like they are looking to trade him somehow according to ESPN.
  5. 90 M on the bench, that hurts, ouch!
  6. Sepeaking for myself Spud, sure, he is likely in decline, but I think he still has gas in that tank to give you several quality stars and value while eating some innings even with his FB%/HR% issues. But again, that's just me, we'll see though.
  7. Well, we'll see Kim.
  8. Well, I just found it. In the post #438 of this thread I said that, but not big deal MVP.
  9. Also, with you, you never know when it is a joke, look what happened with the "maricón" thing LOL. No offense ladies (it's a joke, of course)
  10. When I said "before" it was not meant in my "prior" post, it was meant before that post, meaning: somwhere I said it. Also I was just clarifying it, not big deal to me.
  11. Still, it doesn't has anything to do with baseball. I don't care about politics. All of them suck. Here and there. Everywhere. Also, I don't think you understand how ERA estimators/WAR work, and I'm not saying that he is necessary a top of the rotation pitcher these days (and still I want to see him pitch this year, some projections are giving him good numbers this year). All I'm saying is that he is a better bet than any of our current staff... Oh, aside Price (as I said before). I think your reading comp. is not helping you.
  12. As I said before, of course aside Price.
  13. The facts are there. He has been a good pitcher aside the park and defenses, go figure. Trump supporter? What does it has to do with baseball? Do you want the start a fight... Again?
  14. James Shields has been a great pitcher besides the park and the defense. He has shown for a loooong time that he could be easily a No 1 type pitcher for any team, not to mention he has been durable. For example, I would have preferred James Shields over Porcello in a heartbeat. Even an "old" James Shields is a better bet than anyone of our current roster. ZIPs for example, is projecting a 3.5 FIP for 2016. The park and the defense are not an issue as you are presenting. He has a career 3.6 SIERA/xfip after 10 Y of service sk. I think you are not giving him the credit that he deserves.
  15. That's not true. He has pitched in different type of parks Since 2006. Some are hitters park. Some pitcher parks. Not to mention that he pitched in the ALE a lot of games. Is he in decline? Likely, but I think he can post easily a 4 ERA and 180 IP regardless the park.
  16. Aside the scores and the stats, I think some young players try to make a case here in order to be considered in the final roster. Others just try to improve some fundamentals, others try to improve/practice stuff that usually are not that good at, others just try to get rhythm, others try to make the opening day game when there's internal competition for a spot, etc. BL. I think ST could be useful depending on what a team/coach/player need.
  17. Aside Price of course, I think Shields is a better bet than anyone of our current staff. He is a guaranteed 3.5-4 ERA/No.2-3 type pitcher these days who can provide you 180 IP+ at very least.
  18. Ufff it would have been spectacular. Hopefully DD somehow finds the way to put for once and for all soon a great pitching staff. Ben left a disaster in this regard.
  19. That's a lot of money, Ted. Imagine that we have used that money in good pitching.
  20. Panda for Shields? if I were SD I wouldn't trade Shields for Panda by any means.

    The Cubs

Well, I have seen better ideas here than the executed by our FO in recent years LOL!

    The Cubs

the credit was always there, but he had to go. You just can't hide his performance as a GM in the last years here. As I said, he left a mess, reason why they let him go. On the other hand if I had to choose a GM for this team I would chosee Friedman over anyone in the game in a heartbeat. Anyways, and back to topic, I see the NYM, LAD and the Cubs as the front runners in the NL.

    The Cubs

I think Theo's cycle in Boston was already finished. Both, Boston and Theo needed fresh air. Boston already won a WS with LL. Theo seems to be in that way. IMO Both took the right the decision at the time, Boston let him go and he took a rebuilding franchise where he is showing his abilities as GM.

    The Cubs

He left a clogged team at the time. His tenure in the last years in Boston weren't good at all. I think he learned of that. At the time he had more autonomy than Ben by far IMO, but we will never know. On the other hand Ben was always a puppet. Anyways, I like the Cubs, but still we have to see how they perform in the field.

    The Cubs

I really really like how the Cubs look like just a week to start the season. I had my doubts regarding Theo as GM since he left a mess in Boston, but IMO he has learned and matured a lot since then. Good for him and the Cubs. I see a great combination of proven super stars and high caliber young players, I see a balanced team all the way; great pitching and good bats. Also they have arguably the best fan base in baseball and a lot of money. They have all the pieces together to win. On paper, they must be the fav to win it all this year. Imagine a WS between the Red Sox and the Cubs, would be epic.
