I could see myself being behind a move to the rotation if it was absolutely necessary but I don't want that happening unless there are no other options. He's our master key coming out of the bullpen.
Does anyone else realize how great our pen was last year until overuse set in? They were one our greatest strengths. People are jumping the gun on bailey, we don't know how serious it is yet. But hey, why be an optimistic and supportive fan of your team when you can take a steaming s*** on their chances before the season even starts?
Same thing could be said about colon or Garcia last year. Cook and Padilla are veteran ml starters who could conceivably hold down a spot at the back of the rotation if we needed them too, I wouldn't count on them to anchor the staff but they could be serviceable back end starters.
I wouldn't try to put him in the rotation on a regular basis because his numbers weren't pretty out of the starting role but it's nice having him available to start some games every now and then should the need arise. There really is nothing we can't use him for, I'm so glad the skanks were stupid enough to let him go last year.
We had one of the leagues most effective bullpens last year but the starters couldn't go deep into games and they just got worked too hard. You're understating how good our bullpen was for the majority of the 2011 season.
I wasn't a fan of bard to the rotation in the first place but I'm willing to give it a few starts but I think he's gonna turn out to be better as a bullpen piece.
Eh, Albers was great last year until the tail stretch where I suspect overuse got to him, maybe he can be a decent piece this year. I like last years pen but I think they'll be serviceable.
He's my hero as a ball player but as a person, he's a loudmouth who has to sound off on anything and everything, he's nothing but a media talking head now, albeit a talking head who's one of red sox nation's greatest heroes.
Why are we even listening to what Curt Schilling says? The guy serves no other purpose but getting his loud mouth heard. He spouts off about everything whether he is qualified to do so or not, just ignore him.
The new josh is here to stay I think. He's not just a fireballer anymore, he's a pitcher. I think josh has truly become that guy he was last year for good. I expect numbers on par with what we saw last year.
