  1. Yes, we don't need to ruin Daniel like the Skanks ruined Joba.
  2. So I'm gonna take a guess and say you're slightly more sane outside of this forum?
  3. Welcome to the Boston red sox fan base
  4. First off, I'm loving your not so subtle digs at my opening day comment, secondly just because it was an issue last time josh got checked out for peace of mind, that doesn't at all under any circumstance mean that's gonna be the case this time.
  5. As will I. I think it's good how we were able to let him walk and get a solid replacement for a fraction of the cost.
  6. Im not saying we should use him as the closer. I was just responding to a700s comment about having no one valuable in the pen.
  7. Im sure he will but it's a different league, whatever he does in Philly I think the numbers wouldn't translate back in boston.
  8. Even if so I can see bard getting pushed to the pen and then we have melancon settling in as another middle relief arm with Danny boy and bailey anchoring the 8th and 9th.
  9. I felt bad for him with the whole wife thing and he actually put together a decent string of starts in the middle of the season last year before falling off the wagon again.
  10. Well if it's of any help, I was a stuanch believer that Beckett was gonna have a great year last year so Ive made decent predictions before.
  11. I would've been all in favor of bringing Jon back but he was asking a too high price and his numbers weren't what they used to be. Injury problems noted, we still got a cheap young closer who's proven his worth at the big league level.
  12. I want him in the pen too. The reason he was turned into a reliever in the first place was his inability as a starter in the minors.
  13. Melancons been an effective reliever during his career, Aceves is Jesus in a sweat soaked cap, bailey is a good young cheap closer who has an injury that could very well be a minor one, Albers was good until the tail end last year, and I could see us movig Dan back to the pen at some point. If we can get innings out of the starters and not have to have someone trotting out by the 6th inning, I think the pen will be just fine. Don't look now but the 2012 red sox don't look so awful if you view things rationally.
  14. A little batshittery never hurt anybody, like bill lee for example.
  15. 4th in the al is very good. Prior to September where the whole team fell apart, they were great and they still ranked at the top of the league after september
