  1. Just for the record, the idea that you find my logic to be logical gives me a raging logic boner.
  2. He isn't being paid like a number 1. Kershaw and Scherzer are number 1's and they're making 30 million per year. Furthermore, Porcello's ERA looks far less damning when you look at his FIP and consider the fact that the Tigers set him up to fail by giving a guy who pitches to contact an awful defense behind him. Edit: also, I'd rather have the team paying big money for what might be than what has been.
  3. Three things I'd like to cover here. 1. Pussello? Grow the f*** up. You're a grown man. 2. Lester is 31 years old and is going to be paid 155 million dollars over the next 6 years. 3. Look at the market for pitching right now and honestly tell me 82 million over 4 years is ridiculous for Porcello. It's far from absurd when you look at what other pitchers who aren't 26 and coming off of career years are getting.
  4. And what if he pulled a Jon Lester and had an amazing season to the point where his price tag skyrocketed up and out of the arena in which the Red Sox were comfortable? Locking up 26 year old pitchers with good peripherals who are coming off of great seasons is a smart allocation of resources, regardless of how well or poorly their first 3 starts may have went.
  5. He's made 3 starts, one of which was bad. He's coming from the AL Central into the East. An adjustment period could've been expected. He's 26 and coming off of the best year of his career and a few starts doesn't outweigh a career's worth of groundball tendencies. 20 million per year is far from ridiculous when you look at where the market for pitching is at today. Locking up a guy of Porcello's age and talent for 20 per is a smart move by BC and one that I think will work out providing the front office is more patient than the fanbase.
  6. It's also been less than 15 games. All 5 starters have a history of success and have shown signs of effectiveness or better so far. Therefore, certain people in the Red Sox fanbase need to smoke a f***ing joint and relax before waving the white flag or riding BC's ass to trade for 31 year old Cole Hamels.
  7. But you know people are going to turn a less than 15 game sample size of struggles and turn it into "the pitching staff is teh sux!!!111!!" and force everyone with any shred of logic and patience to fight the urge to hurl themselves in front of a moving bus out of frustration.
  8. I'm fairly certain that Big Papi could beat the umpire to death and mount his head on the monster and I'd still think he was in the right.
  9. Can everybody calm down and stop being reactionary dickheads now?
  10. Chill out. He gave up a lead off single and then got f***ed on a bloop double. He got two groundballs but one was with the the infield in. What do you want him to do?
  11. I really f***ing hate Adam Jones. My level of dislike is approaching levels that are probably unhealthy.
  12. He's also off to his best start in years. I'm not worried.
  13. Let's be honest, though. The players can f*** themselves just as hard.
  14. He looks good so far. Attacking the strike zone, missing bats, and keeping the ball on the ground.
  15. Apparently AJP already has 3 HR on the year. Not sure if I believe that.
  16. Time for Buchholz to rebound and do some bird hunting.
  17. And f*** you, Baltimore!
  18. God prays to Koji Uehara.
  19. My time spent playing The Show has left me keenly aware of how f***ing annoying O'Day is to hit against.
  20. Where is YOTN tonight, anyway?
  21. We're the only ones who are allowed to wrap balls around the pole. How f***ing dare they.
  22. Who gives a s*** whether it was the right call or not? The Orioles can go f*** themselves with a tire iron, therefore, Go Umpire!
