  1. Okay. Let me ask you this. You're against this because it makes one of our possible competitors better. What if lillibridge turns into his 2011 self? What if Stewart can find some heat back on his fastball and give us some decent innings out of the back end of the rotation and take dice K's spot? Is there no possibility or a lower possibility of this trade helping us just as much if not more than it helps Chicago?
  2. We were getting better value from the AL team.
  3. This tells me the other offers weren't anything spectacular. I would've only taken another offer if it included a decent starter but that just wasn't gonna happen so I'm happy with what we got today.
  4. He's just 25 and was a top prospect as early as last year. He's not too hot right now but crazier things have happened than 25 year old plus prospects getting their acts together and turning into decent big leaguers. We wouldn't have traded for him if there was nothing of value there. We could've done worse.
  5. Yes! If I had a second team, it'd be the mets. They've always been fun to watch and I think they have a legitimate chance at the playoffs this year if they can shore up the bullpen.
  6. Let's go mets! Tie this bitch up!
  7. What would be the best case WAR for youk in the time he's with Chicago. What would you expect him to put up in his time there if he returns to form.
  8. He's versatile though and can hit lefties a bit. He gives us more than I think youkilis would at this point.
  9. Not to mention that inflammatory bowel disease just sounds unpleasant.
  10. Youk being a huge part of that karma.
  11. Alright. I get the feeling I'm walking into a trap but whatever. I don't care as long as we make the playoffs.
  12. I'm praying this is sarcasm.
  13. If they make it and we don't?
  14. Well I was arguing about youk costing us a playoff spot. how about this. Chicago costs us a playoff spot, you pick what goes in my sig and if we make the playoffs, I get to do the same. If neither scenario happens, we can call it a wash.
  15. Is there any doubt as to nick swishes status as the biggest bag of s*** on the planet? The guys douchy grin makes angels cry.
  16. I honestly can't think of anything. Do you have any ideas?
  17. What's the wager? Dinner?
  18. Because those 2 guys, plus the 2 mil in salary relief, was in all likelihood the best possible value we could get for Kevin. The potential benefits that the guys we got and the stability created by the moving of youk outweigh, in my opinion, the chances of Kevin making us regret this trade. It's that simple. Give it some time. Lillibridge is a decent utility man and maybe Stewart can figure himself out and get some velocity back on his heater. Kid was a big deal not too long ago. He's still just 25.
  19. That remains to be seen. The same can be said for youk suddenly turning into a beast again or continuing the downward trend. He could be a solid addition to Chicago or he could go down with hip problems. Which seems more likely at this point.
  20. If Stewart can get some of the heat back on his fastball, I don't see why he can't become a decent ML pitcher. He's only 25.
  21. Can I maybe buy you dinner sometime?
