Adrian Gonzalez, Justin Upton, just off the top of my head. Both were on pretty team friendly deals (Gonzo had 1 year left, Upton had more money left). Neither got the return of three top 50 prospects, which is what Bradley/Bogaerts/Webster are
It's the exact reason why having a power hitting middle infielder (like Cano or Bogaerts) is so valuable, because they are so rare. But a power hitting 1B? Dime a dozen.
If Bogaerts wasn't a SS, he wouldn't be a top 10 prospect.
From Sox Prospects:
"Soft hands. Needs improvement with reads off of bat. Can be stiff and slow with reactions."
He did play middle infield in high school, so he may have the glove for 3B.
They wouldn't get all four of those.
But they would get Bogaerts/Bradley + Webster/Barnes + Cecchini/Vazquez/etc, and then another lower tiered guy.
Bogaerts + Webster + Cecchini + Brentz would be a massive haul.
