  1. Watching Napoli hit reminds me of the scene in Rookie of the Year when Rowengartner loses his arm strength and he looks to his mom in the stands and she says 'float it' and he does, and he strikes out the fat hitter. On a related note, Bailey pitching reminds me of Rookie of the year, when he does have his arm strength and said hitter crushes one and stops and says 'I eat fastballs for breakfast kid.'
  2. Better than Bailey. Wait. Is turning a good hitting prospect into a closer the same as giving away a good hitting prospect for a closer?
  3. I really want to see Bailey DL'd with a torn ego, and RDLR called up. I know it may stunt the development of RDLR, but you also may find that you've got an elite closer in the making too. He needs to be up here tonight. Period.
  4. This is not even close to what I was describing. I wouldn't care if Bailey threw in the 9th in an 8 run game. It's the high leverage situations. Those could be in the 7th, 8th, 9th, whenever.
  5. I'm just sticking to my guns, that's all. It probably won't happen, but I'm not going to submit to that until Aug 1
  6. He certainly can't hit right now (he's in a bad rut seriously)
  7. You want to win this year, Farrell? Then don't go off and say 'we've got some work to do with Bailey' and then put him in a 1 run game. You want to work on Bailey? Do it when it's irrelevant. In the 6th inning of a 5 run game. Let the pitchers who can at least compete have a shot at the 9th. Bailey didnt even record an out. You want to win now?? You send down Wilson (Beato will be gone when Webster pitches on Saturday), you call up RDLR, you give the 9th to Taz and the 7th to RDLR/Breslow. The 8th to Uehara/Miller, and the 9th to Tazawa. You give the crap innings to Bailey until you've 'done your work on him'. Pathetic management. Absolutely abysmal.
  8. Well that'll do it for Bailey
  9. That's not true. If you're looking for a change in his approach and he's squared up a ball or two, the results will come.
  10. Bailey in the 9th may work out here. Huge park plays well for his FB tendencies
  11. I can't believe that didn't get out. And I can't believe we didn't go to Miller in a 1 run game against one of the best power hitting LHH in the game
  12. He did scorch the ball to CF in his previous AB
  13. Koji, interesting. Makes you wonder if Taz is slated for the 9th
  14. Pretty disgusting showing by our LHP 'killers'
  15. He'd go 0-5 with 3 K's against my church leave softball team right now
  16. Need a big knock from Lav here
  17. Starting to wonder if we need to trade for a 1B...
  18. Should have been an auto DP. He wasnt in the same area code as 2B
  19. I've never seen anyone turn a DP as fast as Iglesias.
  20. No clue how this is a 2-2 game. The Sox are scorching the ball, the Tigers scored on back to back bloops
  21. Bradford is a moron. That ball skipped off his foot after the ball hit the ground
  22. The only reason I remember him being at 94 is because I kept thinking '94, that's good velocity for him, so his arm can't be injured'. A smart man I am, as he was having TJS about a month later
  23. I think Lavarnway has a big night tonight. Middlebrooks too
