  1. Seriously? You've got 4 guys winning 67. Last year, your top 4 winners won 59. And Pettitte started 21 games. It's not like he was out half the season. Now he's being replaced by Nova, who had 9 starts last year, and had 1 win. So that's 60 wins total, so my bad, you are saying that your starting 4 are 7 wins better than CC - Hughes - Burnett - Pettitte/Nova of last year. According to you, you've got the best pitching staff in the MLB. If Freddy Garcia starts as your 5th man, all of a sudden you've got 75-78 wins from your front 5!
  2. Hughes won one of his games as a RP, and he started of mega hot. From June 8th - end of the season, he won 10 games while posting an ERA of 5.15. Marking Hughes down for 18 again would have been crazy. Saying he's going to improve upon his 18 wins last season is even crazier. If he gets 15 wins, you should be happy. I cannot get my head wrapped around how you think that your top 4 this year will be better than your top 4 last year by 8 games, and you're removing Pettitte and inserting a rookie. I mean honestly. If you get these win totals, then your number 5 man gets 8, and you get 5 wins from spot starters, you've got 80 wins from your SP. Tack on 20 from your RP and you're at a 100 win season. Your pitching projections are way off. FYI - Bill James projections - CC - 18 wins Hughes - 12 wins Burnett - 12 wins
  3. Yeah I'll go to a few Vandy games. I could probably walk to the stadium if I wanted to, it's super close, super cheap, and a good time to go check out some of their games.
  4. You do realize that only 6 teams last year got 67 or more wins from their entire SP, yet you're predicting 67 from your starting 4?!? That's absurd.
  5. Come on now man. I think everyone here agrees that it is possible that Lowrie is like Youkilis in the instance that his power could bloom a bit late and he could end up being a 20-25 HR guy if he get's enough playing time. Having said that, I'll admit that my expectations for Lowrie were very aggressive and unrealistic. I'll say 14-16 HR given a full season of AB's. Now. Can we just drop the Lowrie thing?
  6. Not to mention the fact that he clubbed 31 last year, of which 20 were away from Petco, and did it all with a torn labrum. I don't think people understand just how painful a torn labrum is. I tore mine in HS and couldn't pick up a can of coke because my arm was so weak sometimes. The guy, last healthy season, hit 28 bombs in away games alone, so those ZIPS projections are incredibly conservative. By the way - Here's Gonzo's spray chart from 2009 at Petco laid on Fenway - I counted at least 8 more HR and 6 more base knocks if he was playing at Fenway rather than Petco. Does that mean he's going to hit 48 bombs this year? I wouldn't put it past him, but if I'm going to make a true estimate, I would say he should hit 40+.
  7. Depends. Mauer/Morneau, HanRam/Stanton, or Pujols/Holiday? Clearly you should go with the HanRam/Stanton combo, since they are both black like you used to be.
  8. @BSox - MLB.TV has said they are going to show over 150 ST games, and from what I've seen, most games that are shown on the MLB Network are also shown on MLB.TV. I already posted a list of the games and who is airing them, too, so hopefully that's the case. @RSFFL - Dude. I cannot get the hitting down in MLB10 the show, but I think mlb11 I may have an edge because I played MLB2K10 on the 360 a ton, and they use the analog hitting rather than button, so hopefully that'll help. We'll get some games in, don't worry.
  9. @DipRe - Aren't you upset about Lowries .333 OBP?
  10. Pettitte's going to throw 140 IP and go 9-6 next year for the Yanks over 23 starts. That's interesting as well.
  11. These seem incredibly pessimistic. Gonzo with only 34 HR? I am a firm believer that he'll hit over 40. Youk in 122 games? I'll take the over there. Also with his HR total of 21. The biggest shock to me? I just really don't see Mikey Lowell getting into 91 games this season. Honestly. These projections are a bit of a joke. Bard and Pap with the same ERA at 3.20? Not gonna happen. Buch's ERA jumping 1.5 points? I doubt it. Wake me up when these things get realistic.
  12. I think I'm going to turn on the PS3 tonight and put on last years opening day game vs the Yanks, when Pedey took Chan Ho Park deep. That's about the only April game from last year that I'll watch though. I'm so pumped for some freaking baseball.
  13. Wow that's freaking crazy. 1984, you?
  14. 5/15 is a Sunday, but the Saturday afternoon game is also covered on the 14th at 1:05 on Fox.
  15. Here's a link to the games covered by national broadcasts - http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/broadcasts/national.jsp For the Sox - it's as follows: 3/4 - NYY - 7:05 PM - MLB Network 3/5 - FLA - 1:05 PM - MLB Network 3/9 - BAL - 7:05 PM - MLB Network 3/10 - TB - 1:05 PM - MLB Network 3/12 - FLA - 1:05 PM - MLB Network 3/14 - NYY - 7:05 PM - ESPN 2 3/16 - ATL - 1:05 PM - ESPN 3/20 - STL - 1:05 PM - MLB Network 3/21 - PHI - 1:05 PM - ESPN 3/26 - MIN - 7:05 PM - MLB Network 3/30 - HOU - 8:05 PM - MLB Network That's it for ST For Regular Season - 4/9 - vs NYY - 1:10 PM on Fox 4/10 - vs NYY - 8:05 PM on ESPN 5/7 - vs MIN - 1:10 PM on Fox 5/14 - @NYY - 1:10 PM on Fox 5/15 - @NYY - 8:05 PM on ESPN 5/21 - vs CHC - 1:10 PM on Fox 5/22 - vs CHC - 8:05 PM on ESPN 5/28 - @DET - 7:10 PM on Fox 7/16 - @TB - 4:10 PM on Fox 8/6 - vs NYY - 4:10 PM on Fox That's it so far. I'm sure things will change, but we get a lot of Sunday Night games initally.
  16. I actually have to agree with Dipre here. ARods opinion of Iglesias is extremely meaningful to me. You can look at the scouting reports by sox officials, go read what bradford has to say on weei, look at soxprospects and see what it says, but the most unbiased opinion is going to come from the star of your rival team. I don't think I've ever heard arod talk about any player that isn't on his team in a good way, so to me, this is extremely out of the ordinary and holds more weight than a reporter or scout that often times inflates a prospects value.
  17. Nope. Not bent out of shape about that. Not at all actually. You know why? Probably be because I'm 26 with a wife that's hotter and smarter than you for sure. You have always had an attitude that you're better and smarter than anyone who doesn't agree with what you say, and I'm just here to point out that just because your 17 and you have a huge ego, by no means, makes you better than anyone else, but it's cool. Whenever you mature a little bit, you'll realize that. Oh and by the way - doing what a boss tells you to do is part of being a good employee, and at least my boss doesn't tell me to clean the bathrooms and refill the soap.
  18. Yup. You're right. I'm sorry that I wake up every morning and go to a corporate job and I don't live in my mom's basement and scream at her for getting the wrong pop tarts. I'm sure 'you mad, brah?' would fly in your job at smoothie king or hot topic, but us people in the real world who actually support ourselves and our families speak with at least a tid bit of professionalism. Call me gramps all you want, I'm 26, and yes, saying "you mad, brah" is grouped in with high school musical and justin beiber.
  19. Vandy went 4-0 over the weekend - @SD 4-3 @SD State 7-3 @SD 3-1 @SD 7-3
  20. No, I'm not "mad, brah" but thank you for tuning me in to the teenage pop lingo. I don't know how I would ever understand what Beiber is saying unless you were here to clue me in.
  21. I just got the ebook on amazon last night, so I have been reading it as much as possible but I'm still in the beginning of the book. So far, though, it's pretty funny and it's cool to see how he's always had this chip on his shoulder.
  22. First off - I was just joking, I don't care if you guys hijacked the board, I was just giving you guys s*** that's all. Second off - in my prime, I had some pretty solid game. But I've been out of the game for a while, as I am now married, so I'm sure it's pretty much depleted, but I already got what I want so I don't mind.
