I think if we've learned anything from Cameron, it's that you can't expect a player to put up numbers consistent with his baseball card while only allowing him to play twice a week. Players like Drew and Cam get into a groove that results from a substantial amount of at bats strung together.
What we need is an everyday RF, not a RF who plays vs LHP, especially with our lefty heavy line up translating to opposing managers lining up a lot of LHP against us. Carlos Beltran would be perfect. The Mets are 5.5 back in the WC right now. Hopefully they sweep the Yankees, bomb to the trade deadline, and sell Beltran.
The only way they get anything in return for Beltran is if they trade him. If they retain him, he can't even be offered arbitration if they wanted to because of a clause in his contract.
