  1. Royals just beat the Rays in extras. Rays had bases juiced with nobody out, then a 1-2 groundout, and 2 K's and they didn't score. Rays are now down 9.5 games in the East, and 6.5 games in the WC.
  2. No chance. The Mets are asking for a return that would be tough to get if Beltran was locked in for next year too.
  3. He strikes him out and the Red Sox win!!!!! Up by 3 in the East!! It's time to start pulling away!
  4. Bard's ERA now at 1.85, after starting out the season letting up 4 ER in 0.2 IP. From game 2 to today, Bard has a 1.13 ERA
  5. HA! I told you dickheads that Youk was due up this inning!! Who's the ******* now!??!
  6. Yeah Beckett is now in line for W.
  7. Was that Mike Cameron sitting next to dude?
  8. 7th inning and we have Youk - Papi - Craw - Reddick coming up? I like our chances.
  9. Damn, why do we always suck with RISP everytime Beckett pitches?!?
  10. Not scoring that inning sucked, but Crawford seems to be turning back into the guy we paid all that money for. If he can become that impact player again, this team is going to be ridiculous.
  11. Crawford has to steal here. Varitek is a double play everytime he steps in the box.
  12. Vs. LHP - .276/.355/.440/.795 Vs. RHP - .277/.362/.462/.814 Those are nearly identical splits. And the Sox vs LHP have a higher OPS than any other team vs RHP. They are 4th in the MLB and 3rd in the AL in OPS vs LHP.
  13. Hmm. Edwin Jackson? Carlos Quentin? Mark Buehrle? Those are all guys who are FA in 2012 (with the exception of Quentin, who is Arb eligible in 2012, and becomes a FA in 2013, but is in a 1 year contract). This from Ken Rosenthal via MLBTR: Quentin is hitting .266/.359/.523 with 19 HR in spacious Comisky Park. He has pretty even splits, (.870 OPS vs RHP, .920 OPS vs LHP), so he could be the everyday RF for the Sox.
  14. Holy s***. 449 feet?!? That's a freaking blast!
  15. No chance Pedroia is every moving. He's the face of the franchise, Boston's Derek Jeter. Ellsbury will move well before Pedroia ever reaches the end of a contract, but I would say that we'll hang on to Ells too. That kind of talent is pretty tough to come by.
  16. Whenever I couldn't load the page, one of the things the error message said was "If this continues, please email the administrator of the website at Admin "AT" talksox "DOT" com, or something like that, but it gave his email.
  17. Bogaerts gets dealt with Doubront + a low ceiling prospect if Beltran has an option for 2012, or his contract extends past 2011. No team is going to trade two guys who can have an impact on an MLB squad for years to come for a 2 month rental with no ROI at the end of the year. And if they do, their GM should be fired. And that's especially true when you're talking about an 18 year old SS who draws comparisons to Asdrubal Cabrera.
  18. The guy is clearly not being challenged in AAA ball. He's hitting AAA pitching as well as I would expect guys like Ortiz, Gonzo, and Pedroia to rip them. Not at all saying he's going to turn into that caliber of a hitter, I'm saying he's hitting the ball as well as anyone could expect a plus MLB hitter to hit it. We gotta find a way to hide his glove somewhere.
  19. Lavarnway is hitting .469/.564/.1000 vs LHP in AAA in 32 AB this year. It's really too bad that we can't get him out in RF in a platoon situation.
