  1. Wow. From here on out, we can play .500 baseball and win 96 games. Remember how everyone on like ESPN was saying 'after their 2-10 start, they have to play .626 baseball to win 96 games! That's a 102 win pace! I just don't know if they can dig themselves out of this hole' Ha. Well how about we just play .680 baseball after our 2-10 start. That's a 110 pace, bitches.
  2. Holy s***. This was an actual question on the RiverAveBlues website in a chat with Mike Axisa. Hahahahahahaha. Wow.
  3. I've watched that video about 8 times in a row and I laugh harder and harder everytime I see it.
  4. This may be my favorite ESPN commercial of all time. I don't know if I ever saw this when it was actually aired. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77fM_9w7mBU&feature=related
  5. It's not the same return. It's a WS plus 2 players who drastically increase your odds at winning another one.
  6. Well you're just not much of a betting man it appears. :harhar:
  7. 2010: J. Hamilton - 186 Hits (6th), .411 OBP (2nd) 2009: J. Mauer - 191 Hits (6th), .444 OBP (1st) 2008: D. Pedroia - 213 Hits (1st), .376 OBP (10th) 2007: A. Rodriguez - 183 Hits (13th), .422 OBP (4th) 2006: J. Morneau - 190 Hits (7th), .375 OBP (17th) 2005: V. Guerrero - 165 Hits (28th), .394 OBP (5th) 2011 Jacko Favorite - 118 Hits (23rd), .367 OBP (18th) Jacko. Be real. No MVP over the past 6 years has been out of the top 7 in at least 1 of the two categories. And you are saying that Granderson is the favorite even though he's not even in the top 15 in EITHER category?? Get a freaking clue. And FWIW, when Vlad was 28th in Hits, he still hit .317 (3rd in AL)
  8. With a UZR of -10.0 per Fangraphs, Granderson is actually the worst defensive center fielder in the MLB, while Ellsbury's 7.5 UZR ranks 4th best in the MLB.
  9. WAR Leaders in the AL: Bautista: 6.8 Pedroia: 6.7 Ellsbury: 5.7 Zobrist: 5.6 Granderson: 5.2 Sorry dude. Ellsbury is a better CF than Granderson. Stats followed by ranking in AL Ellsbury - Granderson .314 BA (9th) - .275 (35th) .876 OPS (9th) - .949 (4th) 84 R (2nd) - 105 (1st) 150 H (3rd) - 118 (23rd) 31 2B (7th) - 18 (62nd) 19 HR (15th) - 32 (2nd) 72 RBI (12th) - 93 (1st) 31 SB (4th) - 22 (9th) It's really not even close. Ellsbury is a much better and complete player. He's in the top 10 in the AL in all but two major categories. And this doesn't even incorporate his far superior defense.
  10. I would say that one of the following two is going to happen this weekend. The Yankees, facing Shields, Hellickson, and Price, will drop 2 of 3, or the Sox, with Beckett up against Felix, will sweep the M's.
  11. I can't tell if you're agreeing with me or ripping me... :dunno: EDIT: Or even replying to me?
  12. Lackey typically throws well against Seattle, especially at SafeCo. 2.78 ERA in 97 career innings at SafeCo.
  13. Leaving 38 runners LOB over 4 games is absolutely "squandering" opportunities. And a hell of a lot of them at that. Just because we won doesn't mean that we played well, and just because I said we're squandering opportunities doesn't mean I'm panicking by any means.
  14. Well we should never, ever, ever, ever lose when its Lester vs Blackburn. Maybe a little residual exhaustion from the NYY series this weekend. Got tomorrow off. Yanks have to go face Hellickson, Price, and Shields. We get Seattle. We'll pick this game back up this weekend, maybe even plus 1.
  15. its not nibbling when you're 115 pitches into the game.
  16. This all stems from that horseshit call on Mauer where the ump didn't ring him up on a pitch that was being called all game.
  17. Major bullpen implosion tonight. At least we took 2/3.
  18. I would have rather seen Aceves or Andrew Miller start the 8th than Lester.
  19. Aviles - Ellsbury - Scutaro - Gonzo. We can get to Nathan for 1.
  20. This one's on Francona. Why the hell you trot your SP back out there after freaking 110 pitches is beyond me. Give me a freaking break.
