  1. Also, FWIW, Crawford has taken 5 BB in 81 PA since coming off the DL. Prior to going on the DL, he had 9 BB in 278 PA. He is clearly more patient at the plate and willing to take a walk. This, by itself, would be a massive improvement on his first half production.
  2. In his first 9 games against the Yankees, he had 5 hits. He's killing the Yankees now, but that's probably because he's started to relax. I really think that trip to the DL was a bit of a blessing in disguise. It kind of took the magnifying glass off of him, and people almost forgot about him a little bit during that month he was out. It was almost like a reset button for him. Before his trip to the DL, he was hitting .243/.275/.385. Since coming off the DL, he's hitting .316/.358/.434 in 81 PA. That's a very significant uptick in production.
  3. The good thing about Crawford's showing this weekend isn't that he went 9/12, or that he is 9 for his last 10. It's that he did it against some LHP. Given, his knock against Boone Logan wasn't exactly scorched, but at the same time, he hit the ball hard against CC. This is something we didn't see during his other hot streaks this year. Plus, he's a guy who can hit the ball weakly on the left side of the infield and beat it out because of his speed. I don't really care how he gets on base, just as long as he gets on base. The thing about Crawford is that when he starts getting on base at a more consistent clip, he's going to start to use his wheels more often because he's going to start getting his timing down, his jumps will get better, and his confidence will get better. He will turn into the game changing player that we signed as soon as he gets on base more consistently. Hopefully this is the turn around that we've been waiting to see, and yes, I do realize that I've said that before.
  4. Just because of all of the debate, that's all. The only reason he's hitting 2nd is because Youkilis is out of the lineup today. Just when I was happy with him hitting 6th...
  5. Crawford is hitting 2nd tonight, Pedroia hitting 4th, Lowrie at 3B, Youk getting the day off.
  6. Last nights game had the feel of a game that jump starts a huge win streak. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Sox went on some outrageous .800 baseball tear for a month and started to pull away from the Yankees.
  7. Haha I'll tear that kid apart if he starts peppering walk off hits every night we need one.
  8. Am I really expected to sleep tonight? I have to be at work in 6.5 hours. No chance of me getting over this win within the next hour. That leaves about 4 hours of sleep. Hmm...how many sick days do I have left?
  9. The Yankees always have a hard time against the Angels (right at .500 for the past 3 seasons). Plus, they're facing Haren (somehow Weaver got bumped). We need to take advantage of this and make it sting. Sox play 3 @ MIN, 3 @ SEA. NYY plays 3 v LAA (1 vs Haren), and 3 vs TB (Price, Hellickson, Shields, tough to win a series against those 3). Lets finally start to separate ourselves.
  10. Crawford now up to .260. That's pretty respectable considering how he started the year. I've said this before. I don't care about how he started. If he can give us the .310/.355/.480 Crawford we signed from here on out, especially in the post season, I'll be gleaming
  11. That was so freaking sweet. Unbelievable. Such a sweet freaking win.
  12. Absolute complete heartbreaker. And what's even worse. They have to face Haren and Weaver in their next 2 games.
  13. Biggest win of the season.
  14. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I think Crawford will hit one.
  16. This is as close to post season baseball as you're going to get in August. This is f***ing brilliant.
  17. Varitek is the absolute goat this game. And it's not even close.
  18. f*** Francona for not PH Salty there. Give your team a f***ing shot.
  19. why the hell didn't Salty hit there?!?
  20. Varitek is so f***ing bad.
  21. Crawford should have run on the first pitch with Reddick hitting. SHould have been on 3rd after the swing and miss. Should be 2nd and 3rd, 1 out.
