  1. Dammit Middlebrooks. You're so poor defensively. Nice quick release there. Had me a bit nervous to be honest.
  2. From what I understand, and I'm not sure if it was in ST, or early in the year, or in June, but apparently BobbyV went into Cherringtons office and basically was pounding the desk with a fist saying "This guy (Morales) needs to start!!!" Say what you will about BobbyV, he's extremely talented at evaluating talent and getting the most out of his players.
  3. Yeah, just to be clear. I am thrilled with Morales. It's the speed guys who make a difference in games like this, and the reason they'll be able to impact the team when they return. This team struggles to hit good pitching. Adding a couple of veteran bats with a lot of speed helps the offense in low scoring games tremendously.
  4. Well yeah but everyone is always talking about how the replacement guys have played so well and Ells and Crawford won't have much of an impact on the team. These are the games where you can really tell a difference.
  5. These are the games where guys like Ellsbury and Crawford are huge. Speed guys who can bunt, beat out an infield chopper, or take a walk, and then get themselves into scoring position.
  6. Ellsbury will be DH'ing and Crawford will be playing LF for the Gulf Coast League Red Sox tomorrow. Most of the games start at around noon eastern time, and you can follow those games here: http://www.milb.com/index.jsp?sid=t471 Just click League Scores, and then you'll have an option under the Red Sox game to click Play by play. Also - Crawford made a long throw from LF to home plate today and said his elbow felt great. Very, very good news.
  7. Well, there IS good news. Felix's OPS Against: 1st time through batting order: .606 2nd time through batting order: .669 3rd time through batting order: .889
