According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Guardians were awarded the claim on Twins' DH Jim Thome.
Of course, just because the Guardians won the claim doesn't mean they will get him. According to Rosenthal, the veteran slugger has a no-trade clause and would prefer to go to the Phillies. The Twins could always pull him back from waivers and release him, allowing him to sign with Philadelphia, though that would likely cause a major uproar among MLB general managers. The claim was awarded Wednesday, so the Guardians and Twins have until 1 p.m. ET on Friday to work out a deal. Source: Ken Rosenthal on Twitter Aug 25 - 12:56 PM

I hope the Guardians get him back so he can retire as an Indian.
