  1. The alcohol wore off.
  2. and can you imagine if they hadn't reversed the bitchslap and the next guy hit a HR and we lost?
  3. I was watching that game in real time and thought for sure no way we'd get either of them changed. For that alone, I support limited replay.
  4. That the umps would go to bat (heh heh) for this POS disgusts me. He should be shown the door, regardless of his illegitimate lawsuit.
  5. That's the first time I've seen the words Price, effective and playoffs in the same sentence.
  6. So wait, is the Stanton trade off?
  7. Miami won't take that bunch of stiffs off our hands, but maybe DD should give the Dodgers a call?
  8. We really, really need a "like" posts function on this forum.
  9. The other thing I find objectionable in these kinds of threads is the idea of giving up 3 really good players to land a superstar - presumably ripping open holes elsewhere in the lineup in the process. Makes absolutely no sense. If you want to get a talent like Stanton, draft him. Or sign him as a FA. Also, does OP realize Stanton has a opt out clause. So let's say we trade something of value for him....and then he walks?
  10. OP mentioned moving him to 1B. Some people think it's an easy position to play, but not every player can do it, and in my opinion we should learn from the Hanley debacle and not make these kinds of moves.
  11. Worked for John Van Benschoten. Oh wait...
  12. So now we're honoring teams that didn't win the World Series? Good to know.
  13. Next up on You Be The GM: Do you think Houston would do a Castillo/Porcello for Altuve trade? GET IT DONE,DD!
  14. Trade for the biggest contract in MLB history and switch him to a position he's never played before. Good God, man.
  15. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/20371946/boston-red-sox-owner-wants-yawkey-way-name-changed I'm in, but if we're naming it after a player it has to be Ted Williams. According to google maps, a side alley is already named after Ortiz?
  16. Where's the accountability? That he hasn't worked a WS since the 90s? Doesn't help if he's still sucking at regular season games. And he has the nerve to sue MLB.
  17. I don't blame them at those prices.
  18. and that's not much of a plan.
  19. I know his life has been hell, but I'm really not sure what I think about this. Seems like they're just bringing the whole thing back up again when it should remain buried. I know they want to "reach out" to him, but I'm not sure this is the right way of doing it. What next, a statue outside Wrigley? (That would be so freaking cool, headphones and cap and arms reaching up).
  20. Another lackluster deadline - across MLB as a whole. As for AL East, Yankees won this hands down. The return for Gray is a headscratcher. Yankees seem to fleece more teams than any other team. I don't think Reed and Nunez are enough to make a difference as far as playoffs goes.
  21. No idea what Beane is doing. There was no urgency to trade Gray now, and getting two injured players in return, one coming off TJ is madness. I'm not sure what the true value of Gray was - he's under control but he's also got a big injury question mark. I think the As should have gotten something more in some respect, though.
  22. Remind me why we got rid of Beltre?
  23. That's a dilemma. If you were him, would you opt out of guaranteed loot coming back from TJ? More of a risk than continuing to collect a paycheck from an employer you hate.
  24. Well, he took your advice, Spudboy. Not. Now challenging Eck to "show your face."
