  1. There's no such thing as true randomness.
  2. We haven't got the wherewithal to win the offseason. We're tapped out and I'm not into giving up Devers or Betts for a Stanton.
  3. Starting Bauer on short rest is really working out well so far.
  4. OK, I'm hitting the panic button. Guardians are gonna choke away this 2 game lead.
  5. Seem to remember Perez coming on in extra innings of a big game a few years back and whichever team it was for, they got away with the first inning, but allowed him to go back out for a second wherein he promptly served up a game-ending 2-run bomb.
  6. Let the second guessing begin. Did Dusty Baker pull Max Scherzer too early? How do you lose a 1-0 lead from the seventh inning on without using your two best relievers? Yes, the winning hit came on a blooper, but the fact that it came off Oliver Perez instead of Ryan Madson or Sean Doolittle has to hurt. On the other hand ... one run (thanks to an error) isn't going to cut it. David Schoenfield, ESPN Senior Writer I wouldn't trust Oliver Perez to take out the trash, never mind pitching in a postseason game.
  7. Yeah, I think I agree with this, after seeing Showalter keeping Britton on the bench that time.
  8. Betts and Devers should be untouchable. Where DD is concerned, though....
  9. Where DD is concerned, I see this being a big "YES."
  10. You can. It would be very expensive and you'd have precious little to replace them with, but it can be done.
  11. I don't see Ortiz as a manager. Wrong personality. As someone just said, hitting coach might be more his line.
  12. Fair play, that was an awesome performance from Tanaka. The guy seems very inconsistent over the course of a season.
  13. What a game. What an absolute ding-dong. You can criticize the handling of the pitching, but no disgrace losing a game like that. In the end it was the first two thumpings that really did for us in this series. Congratulations Rick on achieving the pitching grand slam today - hit, walk, WP and HBP.
  14. Do we have an idea of how much money is available to be spent next year?
  15. Jesus, who blinks first here?
  16. Price erased a lot of the bad will today. He still needs to repeat this, preferably as starter, but today was absolutely huge step in the right direction.
  17. Looking ahead to next season, two things in my opinion: Betts and Devers stay. I don't want DD doing something stupid just to get a big bat.
  18. Baseball is perhaps the biggest sport for this. It works, genius, it doesn't work, boneheaded.
  19. Is the stadium even full?
  20. To clarify, for CLEVELAND pitchers. For NY, elevate away.
  21. We can laugh about it because they won, but yeah, if they had lost, Fister over Porcello and ERod would have kept us going all through Hot Stove.
  22. Debatable. I dont think most of their fanbase cares as much as Boston's does.
