    I was surprised that the Red Sox are middle of the pack in quality starts, given the starters were last in ERA before today. That's something to build on, I guess.

    It will be interesting to see what Edmonton does. If I was them, I'd be listening to all offers for the pick that contain a top D or goalie. Or I might take McDavid and trade Nugent-Hopkins for the help on defense.

    $20 mil a year will put a target on anyone's back. Especially when it's handed out before he's pitched a single pitch for the Red Sox, before we give him half a season to find out if last year (a "career year" that was hardly stellar) was a fluke. I think there's a lot of mistrust for Ben due to the perception he had one of the most valuable chips in Lester at the deadline and has dealt it into Porcello, a clearly inferior pitcher.

    You're right, it's 12 games and the pitching has mostly stunk but we should act like nothing's wrong and just patiently await each new game with zero discourse on how the pitching has stunk.

    Dishing out wads of candy on what MIGHT be is a surefire way to get yourself screwed with bad contracts. Saying Porcello's 2014 was his best year hides that it's the first of five with an ERA below 4.00. Wouldn't you want to wait half this season to judge if that's a fluke before paying him like a number one pitcher, which he most certainly isn't?

    God. f***ing. Dammit. I knew Buffalo wouldn't win the lottery because nothing good ever happens to them, but f***ing Edmonton AGAIN? Once you win a lottery you should be ineligible for the next three 1st round picks. Or better yet scrap the lottery altogether. It's ******** that every non playoff team has a shot at the first pick.

    11 games in, 7-4 isn't too bad given how bad the pitching's been. Offense has been good even with Napoli's struggles and Panda yet to hit an XBH.
