  1. We would lose our clean up hitter, only RHH powerbat. Not happening. Youk got a ton of value if we sell him as a 1B. But we're not selling him.
  2. yes it is. It just a random number I threw out. But he's definitely need to gain some muscle/weight as a starter. Because he looks unhealthy like Buchholz to play a whole season. His (see green) Velocity chart: see the dive in 2011 at the end. http://www.fangraphs.com/fgraphs/7115_P_1_20110928.png
  3. Unless he put on 30LB of muscle, he's going to tired quick mid season. His velocity dipped nearly 2MPH last September from his career average.
  4. 5 starts max.
  5. Yes. Totals are added at the end of the year for the taxing.
  6. Doubt it's that soon. Sometime in August at the earliest.
  7. surely you jest.
  8. Career .339 OBP isn't bad. his WAR been around 2.0 AVERAGE. That's decent for a SS with no power.
  9. Remains to be seen. It's been a while since Aviles was decent/good. Iggy should be our SS if there's no alternative.
  10. Yes. Seriously.
  11. we need both. Aviles isn't a fulltime player. Send them Aviles/Bowden if we can get Barlett back.
  12. If he could hit near his career line .288 .318 .419 He's the best SS since Nomar.
  13. Platoon. vs LHP .318 .348 .576 vs RHP .229 .263 .338
  14. the only worse hitter is Jeff Mathis.
  15. The Padres were shopping Jason Barlett. Is he still any good?
  16. There is no chance of that happening.
  17. For if they are at $189 million or less for the three seasons from 2014-16, they not only avoid paying one cent in luxury tax, which would rise to 50 percent for them as repeat offenders, but they also would get roughly $40 million in savings via the to-be-implemented market disqualification revenue sharing program. However, only teams under the luxury-tax threshold get reimbursed in this program, which is designed to prevent big markets such as Toronto and Washington from receiving revenue sharing dollars, which in turn will lower how much teams such as the Yanks pay (as long as they are under the threshold). http://bizofbaseball.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5572:last-week-in-bizball-the-debate-uver-the-new-mlb-cba-continues&catid=67:pete-toms&Itemid=155
