Ideally, they'll go with Atchison, Reyes, Aceves. Atchison earned his place on the team last year, and I'm more than comfortable letting him be a 5th/6th inning guy. Aceves has looked too good to keep at AAA, and Reyes is by far the best lefty of the group-- plus if they don't take him now, they lose him. Albers has a 5.11 ERA in the majors. Rich Hill is around 4.8. Wakefield should be on his way to the glue factory. Okajima has shown nothing to deserve a spot, let him get his s*** together before calling him up.

I've noticed you've been gone, simply because its been better here without you. And my first post was directed towards both you and ORS-- he's been on Jacko for everything lately. If the discussion is about Beckett/Burnett, I have no problem with that. But it is clearly not about the pitchers.

Contribute? You've been back for what? 24 hours, and your first "contribution" is to attack a completely unbiased topic. If you want to go dig up old threads, go for it, but don't turn this one into a troll-fest because you suddenly find yourself with nothing better to do once again.

What do you want him to say, that Beckett is going to have an incredible 2007-like season and win a world series mvp trophy? Beckett has been garbage for 18 straight months. This is a fact. Jacko's post was completely unbiased, and he got attacked anyway. Why are you arguing about a theory about Burnett from another thread, and then telling him HE'S not getting the point?

I've usually been pretty outspoken for my feelings towards Beckett. He's one of the most over-rated players in baseball, but people treat him like a Cy Young. -

Everyone has gotten really on-edge while we wait for some baseball.

I just don't think we've seen anything from him this spring that earns him a spot in front of, say, Aceves, Doubront, or even Atchison/ Bowden.

The Celtics have fallen off a cliff ever since they clinched that playoff spot. Coincidence...? I certainly hope so.

Dude... if they signed Sabathia+Lee, those two players would be taking 80% of their payroll right now.

Their payroll was 61 million in 2010. The possibility that they could afford Sabathia/ Lee is ridiculous, and they didn't exactly have great luck with Lee-- it looked like they were selling high on him at the time.
