  1. You might debate where the line on "quality" is, but he kept them in every game, and saved the bullpen innings. His WAR was 31st among pitchers... which makes him an ace somewhere:lol: He'll have a good 2011, for certain.
  2. Some people think Lackey's 2010 season was a real disappointment. But they overlooked the fact that he ended up with 200+ IP, 20+ QS, 4 WAR, having a pretty solid season.
  3. You're taking me out of context. I'm not talking about pre-2010.
  4. I posted one sentence, and you misread it in two different places:lol:
  5. Buchholz went to the All-star game, got national attention, and came in top 5 for Cy Young. How is he underrated?
  6. Good for Lackey. He was easily the most underrated player on this team last year, so its good to see him get the start.
  7. Wow, for some reason I thought the luxury cap was lower than that. Its sort of funny that the cap really only affects one-ish team.
  8. He threw out the first pitch for game 1 of the World Series, and he didn't even stick around for the game? Wow. Here's a pretty good line:
  9. FINALLY! Why does it feel like this has been long deserved for 2 years?
  10. I'm an American (meaning I don't follow football at all), but I'm curious exactly what kinds of changes they made to your club. Can you try to explain what they did to someone who doesn't know what most of this means?
  11. Good to see Dice-k get it together. The last time he came into a season healthy, and in shape, he ended up coming in top 5 for Cy Young, so here's to hoping.
  12. Does anyone have a particular strategy for nonstandard leagues? My friend decided to start an unbalanced 15 category autodraft league, and my pre-draft rankings are a mess. Hits AND average, Wins AND Losses, 8 hitting categories to 7 pitching categories. I'm tempted to lower my priorities on pitching, but I know there are managers in the league who will just keep the yahoo's ranking system, and will pick up all the elite talent if I draft too low. It also makes me consider going crazy low on the .300 hitting catchers, and aces from good hitting teams, but I'm really just winging it at this point.
  13. Where did Linares come from? Seems like he popped up overnight, and now other MLB teams want him. It'd be hilarious if after all the questions about the last bullpen spot... and we get an established LOOGY to fill it from another team.
  14. Maybe I wasn't clear-- What I'm saying is.... He's Jacko. Anyone who has listened to him talk about the Yankees for more than two or three posts can figure out the bias. But for two guys he said were going to be aces to be #2s--at 24 and 26 years old respectively--I think that does show that he knows more about the Yankee farm system than most of us--especially when I bet a lot of us had given up on them. That being said, I always look at his projections and dial them back a bit for Jacko being Jacko.
  15. Hughes and Kennedy have each had one full season each. During that season, they both spent that as #2s of their respective teams. Jacko may exaggerate a bit, but if taken with a grain of salt, sometimes he does have some useful info on prospects.
  16. Hating on Dice-k is so 2009.
  17. How many members, and is it auction, or straight up draft? I'd probably go Tex before Crawford, but I generally avoid early round outfielders if I can. It also depends on what other positions have a lot of keepers. Hanley is a keeper, no matter what, and the other two are pretty solid picks too.
  18. Marshon Brooks better get top 5 consideration. He's scored like woah on a s***** team. 40th pick is ridiculous for the league's 2nd highest scorer, especially with that kid's energy. But then again, the last time I was this deadset sure on a player I've seen in person was Thabeet. Ohhh snap.
  19. I'm having trouble figuring out where to begin. So your argument here is a HOF lock, multiple Cy Young winner like Hallady would be a good closer? Isn't that obvious? But 60 saves? Its incredibly rare to have that many chances. Sub 3 ERA? Mo has had a sub-2 ERA for the majority of his seasons as a closer, with a sub-1 WHIP. All while in the most brutal division in baseball, during the primes of Manny/Ortiz and throughout the steroid era. And he's done it consistently for fourteen years.
  20. Big Z was +16 for the game. Play him 24 minutes, and the Heat beats the Lakers. Coincidence? ********.
  21. AMAZING!!! Gasol shaved his neck!!!
  22. What the hell...so I come home, and the Heat are actually winning... and I finally realize why: Big Z is in. He's friggen +12 for the game.
  23. Maybe this is a big marketing ploy. America is obsessed with seeing the Heat fail. The Heat's ratings haven't been what they wanted them to be. Wham, easy ratings.
  24. Wow, leaving out Lincecum? In general, this list makes me think Schilling is a little AL-biased.
