  1. Anyone else notice that Scutaro is almost hitting .300?
  2. Fine. Then who did you want at the beginning of the season? You want Theo fired so badly, but you can't even tell me how you'd solve any of these problems.
  3. What you don't understand is that sometimes things can't be done. You are given certain cards, and circumstances. You are working under the assumption that Theo has some magical formula that will allow him to see which players are going to be superstars, but that's not the case. The kinds of pitchers you wanted as depth didn't exist as depth, they existed as starters, and had no desire to be depth. On top of that, he was involved in every single available pitcher at the trade deadline. Every single one-- he did his homework and left no stone unturned. Every available pitcher. Word was, there was actually a deal in place to get Kuroda, until Kuroda said he wouldn't waive his no trade clause. Go back and look at the reports, Theo was very active, but there simply wasn't a good pitcher out there for this team.
  4. I know you mentioned you haven't been following the Sox much... He's actually hit in cleanup a lot when Youkilis/Ortiz were out. He's had some pretty good games there, actually.
  5. Let me ask this one more time since you keep ignoring it. What did you want to do? Your solution has been, time and time again "Go get Kuroda and Jimeniz" but neither of those were options for this organization. What would you have done?
  6. I think this is a good opportunity to see whether or not Lavarnway will be able to replace Ortiz.
  7. I sort of would like to see Wakefield end his career in Pittsburgh at age 54 with 300 victories.
  8. Interesting. I'm sure there are some relevant factors on that one though. The teams with the best records often rest their starters, and lose more games because of that. It is also teams fighting for last playoff spots who streak late in the season, who are borderline playoff teams anyway. Plus, streaking late can probably causes a bit of fatigue too.
  9. I wish I could have been there. I'd been trying to get home-Wakefield starts for a while, but I only caught one, and it happened to be won in a walkoff. Either way, great job Timmy, hopefully you can get back on track to those high 4 ERA and 6IP starts.
  10. Kuroda explicitly said he wasn't going to waive his no-trade clause. Seriously, we've said that like ten f***ing times, and I think someone cited it earlier. I know English isn't your natural language, but if you're going to try to be part of these discussions, try to pretend you know what is going on.
  11. My point is that the Yankees had the same amount of depth as the Red Sox. The only difference is luck.
  12. Woah, this organization must be serious. That lineup looks sick... definitely the best combination this team can put on the field in any given day.
  13. Buchholz is a yellow light? He was top 5 in the Cy Young conversation in 2010.
  14. Thanks SFF. Some of this nonsense gets under my skin sometime..
  15. How about Felix Doubront, the promising young lefty who never allowed more than 3 ER in any of the three starts when he pitched in 2010? You know, the one this organization was counting on as depth before he pretty much lost the whole season, and the one I mentioned three times in prior posts? Welcome to my ignore list.
