  1. Is it just me, or does Gonzalez look like he is running faster this year?
  2. Beckett made it clear that the snitch is still in the clubhouse.
  3. Say what you will about the rest of the team-- Doubront has been having a very good game. He's done everything we needed him to do-- go 5-6 innings with 2-3 runs. And who knows, as he gets more comfortable, he could get better.
  4. DFA Salty. Seriously, you won't pay 6 million for Scutaro, but 2.5 for Salty is okay?
  5. Any other catcher would be blocking the plate there. Take a f***ing hit you pussy.
  6. DFA Salty. Seriously, poorly played.
  7. In all fairness, Yankee updates are always appreciated when the Yankees are losing
  8. Doubront was careful around the good hitters, and seems to be getting closer to the strikezone for the bottom of the order. Seems like a good sign to me.
  9. Well Salty, we'll always have last summer.
  10. Just got in. Will Doubront be this team's #2 starter this year?
  11. Iortiz gets a big windfall with Aceves being named the closer of the Red Sox. He's probably worth a mid round pick now.
  12. Lohse through 6!
  13. Lohse through 4, wow.
  14. He seems really out of place, and almost sad. I doubt he'll get many offers for jobs in the booth in future seasons.
  15. Francona's voice is in the booth for this one. He hasn't said a whole lot.
  16. Can we start taking bets on when Wakefield gets a phone call? My bet is April 15.
  17. I remember when I objectively looked at the season, and said, the Red Sox need one more pitcher and one more reliever. People started lumping me in with the pessimists. But when you looked at the health records of the guys on this team, and the medical malpractice that has become a norm in this organization, it was inevitable that someone would get hurt. The Red Sox didn't need Darvish or Wilson. They needed Garland, or Duke, or Wheeler or Frasor. Whether they do well or not, the Red Sox have planned poorly for this season.
  18. The problem is that Bard in the rotation is a long-long term plan. He's not breaking 150 innings this year, and won't be a top of the rotation guy this year. My argument is that Cook/Padilla could potentially do nearly as well as Bard in the rotation... while Bard would do significantly better in the rotation than Cook/Padilla. Unless someone sees Bard throwing in the mid 3s as a starter, it just seems like the bullpen is where he has the most value to this team.
  19. Look at the calendar:lol:
