  1. That was the first time in Red Sox history that a pitcher has walked/hit that many batters in only two innings.
  2. Why on earth would you not pinch hit for Punto? I don't care if Ortiz has to play second base, you don't leave him in for a situation if you have Middlebrooks on the bench.
  3. It could be worse. How would you feel like to be a major league hitter getting dominated by Atchison night in and out?
  4. Morales is going to get hurt out there, 4 innings for a reliever is dangerous.
  5. On the bright side, Morales is pitching very well today. 3.1 scoreless innings. The Red Sox also have a day off tomorrow, so if they throw most of the pen out there today, they can still get a rest for the next series.
  6. Home run! Let's see this game get competitive.
  7. One hit. Five runs. Even with Dice-k and Wakefield here, I don't think I've ever seen that.
  8. A big Daniel Nava blast here make this game winnable.
  9. Podsednik, Byrd and Punto should finish the rest of the game on the mound.
  10. For anyone who didn't watch today's start from Bard-- its time to put him back to the bullpen. Now. 1.62 WHIP, 4.91 ERA, and significantly diminished velocity. If that doesn't tell you the full story, I don't know what will. I'll be the first to admit I was originally one of the supporters of the move, but it just doesn't make sense anymore.
  11. That looked bad. Real bad. Bard needs to move to the bullpen just to prevent s*** like this from happening.
  12. Daniel Bard has a WHIP of 1.61 as a starter this year. It is absolutely time. Dice-k or Cook.
  13. Dicek -> rotation. Bard -> bullpen. == Win.
  14. Better yet, the Yankees face Verlander today. A win today, and a Yankee loss puts the Red Sox ahead of them in the division. Just win.
  15. Well, it isn't like the season so far has been all that easy. They've played 23 games so far against 2011 playoff teams, and that's only over 53 games. 3 @ Philly, 7 versus the Tigers, 3 @ Detroit 9 versus the Rays, 2 @ Tampa 2 versus the Yankees 2 versus the Rangers
  16. Theo is trying to build for the future. I seriously doubt he's going to trade away his ace for a pile of #4/#5 or relief pitchers. He'd much rather get high-ceiling prospects than average major leaguers, and for a AL East proven talent, I'd bet that he could definitely get it.
