  1. It'd be great to knock out Moore and see some of Tampa's relief core by the 5th.
  2. With the Celtics hurting, and the Bulls knocked out, they can probably still sneak out of the East. But that was a crushing blow to their chances to win the whole thing.
  3. Absolutely. Best case scenario, the Red Sox win enough to take one of those wild card spots. Is a one game playoff worth holding onto Beckett? Last year, the Red Sox had a must-win last game of the season, and they lost to the Orioles. Trading Beckett frees up that 16 million a year to go after one of the quality pitchers available on the market. Beckett's fastball velocity is dropping a MPH per year at this point. Trading him sends a message to the players, and marks the end of the beer and pitcher fiasco. And considering the kind of haul that Jimeniz got, I think Beckett will bring in some quality pitching prospects-- something this team has severely lacked over the last few years.
  4. I hear you. The best I could come up with was "huh."
  5. Aviles has a .470 OPS in May, and Iglesias has a .970 OPS. Huh.
  6. Sweet! His trade value just shot right back up.
  7. Why does this team hate riding the hot bat? When Lowrie was tearing last year, to the bench he goes, and Scutaro comes in. When Scutaro was on a tear, Aviles comes in. Lavs is sitting idly by in Pawtucket with a .370 OBP. Now Middlebrooks is being sent down? Dumb.
  8. Youk has more experience in the outfield than Will does.
  9. We're getting to the point in the season where Lester turns it up. Hopefully the rest of the team follows.
  10. Lester pitches a complete game. And who is at the plate? It isn't Salty.
  11. Lester coming back to finish the game. Someplace, somewhere, Soxsport just got an erection.
  12. I laughed so hard after this one:thumbsup:
  13. Vargas got hammered that inning. Two home runs and three very deep fly ball outs.
  14. Be fair. It could be his last.
  15. Seattle makes 2012 Lester look like pre-2012 Lester.
  16. He's been good the last few games. We should definitely call him up once every two years so he can be heroic for those few games, and then send him back down. It'll work wonders I bet.
  17. And ofcourse, there is the other option. Eating Youkilis contract in order to get some value from another team for him. Maybe pull in a mid-tier pitching prospects, or a 7th inning bullpen guy. Youk can get some value, but unfortunately I don't think the Red Sox will be able to get money AND players for him. And at this point, trading away prospects for this team seems out of the question, IMO.
  18. When Soxsport talks about managers babying their starters, just ignore him. He's made that argument atleast a hundred times since joining here. That's no exaggeration, take a look at his previous posts if you don't believe me.
