  1. I heard that the way the Yankee's insurance policy works is that they will only pay the full salary of a season if A-rod doesn't play a single game -- that is probably why the Yanks have tried so hard to prevent him from playing.
  2. Yeah. When they were walking back to the dugout, they exchanged a few words, and Pedroia looked annoyed there too. Ellsbury then made a waving motion at one of the coaches. I think it was more of a mild annoyance than any big conflict though
  3. This is probably the last inning for Doubront. Great outing though, 7 shutout innings.
  4. Like Adrian Beltre for example.
  5. Woah, what a dick move by Ellsbury. Pedroia looks pissed.
  6. Doubront seems to get better and better with each start he makes. 70 pitches through 6 innings... 4 hits (all singles), no walks. If he keeps that up, he's looking at the best game of his career, and possibly his first 9 inning shutout.
  7. I think the best option for a RHH hitter after Ortiz would probably be that Xander guy.
  8. Mccarthy looks shaken, but is still pitching well enough.
  9. Glad to see Mccarthy dodging that one. I really hope they give him the option of using a pitching helmet... if he got hit again, that could be dangerous.
  10. Mccann would be nice, but paying that kind of money to a catcher usually ends with chronic leg injuries. He would make sense if they plan on avoiding a full-time first-basemen to give BM extra rest, and stick with Carp/Nava/Lavs/ Ross/McCann to rotate through 1B/LF/C.
  11. Its his first start since coming off the DL, and he would have to throw about 180 pitches at this rate. I have some doubts about that.
  12. He re-signs Salty and Uehara on team-friendly deals, grabs another bullpen arm, and trades one of the starting pitchers for a key-piece for next year.
  13. I've said it multiple multiple times, but Victorino really needs to be careful about that wall. He gets pretty beat up... moving him off center field may cause him some chronic injuries in the future.
  14. Mccarthy's pitch count has gotten dangerous without many baserunners. 20 pitchers for 3 batters.... hopefully they'll score, but if not, they can get him out early.
  15. This is the Astros we're talking about. What better team to build their confidence? All games against the Astros should be considered must-wins.
  16. Steven Wright? Why? They have 6 starting pitchers.
  17. The rubber game against the Diamondbacks. Felix Doubront 7-5, 3.77 ERA, http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/mlb/players/full/30066.png&w=350&h=254 Versus Brandon Mccarthy 2-4 5.00 ERA http://i.usatoday.net/communitymanager/_photos/daily-pitch/2012/09/06/mccarthyx-large.jpg There were a surprising number of pictures available on the internet of Mccarthy lying down by the mound. Either way, I don't care, need World Series. Just win!
  18. Crazy uncles...
  19. Uehara's 9th walk of the season. That's it, 9.
  20. The Sox already had a lead, so what difference does it make? Want to play over/under? 7.5 pitches for Koji.
  21. Salty bomb. Hellz yes.
  22. And more blind starters.
  23. I think the Red Sox need to find more Japanese relievers.
  24. Goldy looked silly on strike 2, and then Taz with a clutch strikeout.
  25. Just get it to Uehara... please...
