  1. Two audible eff-bombs from Papi in that AB.
  2. I'm sorry Mr. Grammar Policeman, sir. I fixed it, can you let me off with a warning this time?
  3. I looked at the numbers last time you started a thread. You're like 7-15 or something like that. Mojo is something you're born with.
  4. Double-error turns an easy out to an inside the park home run. Serious?
  5. Seems like nothing lands in right field against the Red Sox these days.
  6. Ellsbury takes 7 pitches, strikes out, and still makes his way to first base. Very solid plate appearance.
  7. Uehara's option has been vested, so he'll be back in 2014. In other news, NESN posted a crazy stat about Tazawa. In 6 games versus Toronto he has a 9.00 ERA. In 47 games against everyone else, he is closer to 1.68.
  8. PAGING BROCK HOLT ! PAGING BROCK HOLT! You need to start a game thread for tomorrow's game. PAGING BROCK HOLT ! PAGING BROCK HOLT! (just in case)
  9. Is it just me, or is Middlebrooks a very very good defensive 3B? All the reports/stats I've seen say he is closer to average, but he makes some very good plays.
  10. How about the best offense in the major leagues? http://jwtalk.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/bearedSmiley.gif
  11. Not that I'm aware of. If the team wins, the GT is posted by the poster who created the winning GT. Otherwise it is a free-for-all.
  12. If XB plays SS, then who plays 3B? If Middlebrooks plays 3B, who plays 1B? I don't think the Red Sox need Drew, but he's worth taking a chance on a qualifying offer.
  13. These are the top 5 OPS values among shortstops with 300+ PA 1) Tulo .943 2) Peralta .822 (suspended for PEDs) 3) Segura .808 4) Desmond .804 5) Stephen Drew .781 I don't think you understand how few shortstops have solid offense.
  14. Rays got swept by the Dodgers. Red Sox still 3 games up on the division, but the Orioles keep gaining ground, at 4.5 back.
  15. I'd say we have a 50/50 chance on WMB. He either strikes out, or hits a home run.
  16. With Shields out of the game -- or he will be shortly-- and 3 innings of bullpen to face, I don't think its completely out of the question.
  17. Lavs took one right down mainstreet on the first pitch. Then, turns around and pulls the Red Sox back in the game.
  18. Crucial crucial double play.
  19. Victorino's back is a magnet. Hard things tend to fly right into it.
  20. I could definitely get on board with Billy Butler. I am nervous about what the Royals would want.... They're tasting their first winning season in a while, and I doubt they'll want to trade their All-Star first baseman for anything except for major league talent. Any trade involving Butler would cost some combination of Doubront, Carp, Workman and Tazawa.
  21. Josh Reddick with 5 home runs in the last two games. He brought his OPS from .613 to .680 just like that.
