  1. Farrell trusts Breslow, Tazawa, and Uehara. I don't think he is confident in the rest of the relievers -- I understand matchups are important, but most of them have ERAs hovering around 5.
  2. As a player, I do not think there is anything nearly as satisfying as going to an away playoff game, and realizing the park isn't actually full.
  3. No more shutouts against Price please.
  4. Winning tonight would be a real back-breaker for the Rays. Buchholz v. Cobb and Peavy v. Hellickson are very favorable matchups. Price however is a real issue the Red Sox need to solve. Hopefully the fans today will think of a good Price chant
  5. Any fantasy experts here? I'm on a critical week against the league's only 4-0 without my top running back. My options are limited -- I need two of LeGarette Blount, Rashard Jennings, Ryan Matthews or Bilial Powell?
  6. It is what it is
  7. My favorite player and my least favorite player are on the same team. Do I want to see more Lowrie in the playoffs, or less Bartolo Colon? What a conundrum.
  8. And A-rod continues to drag the Yankee organization through the mud. Priceless.
  9. Your mojo deserves a spongebath from an NFL cheerleader.
  10. Been trying to watch the game at my desk. Lester has looked nasty. Anything big I missed?
  11. It is very obnoxious, IMO. I really can't be skipping work, but... priorities.
  12. BTR mojo. Just win. Tickets are down to $50, really want to skip work tomorrow.
  13. Cleveland has kept its head above water. Tampa may regret not putting them away.
  14. Can someone with mojo create a playoff game thread?
  15. Can someone with mojo start a postseason thread?! Game 1 tickets have been dropping. Very very tempted to snag one.
  16. And Red Sox fans deliberately get in the way of players trying to catch foul balls. And Yankee fans have more tramp stamps than fans of any other team. It is what it is.
  17. Cubs fans are too drunk and stupid to notice that they are in a rebuilding year so it isn't like there is any profit to be lost. There is something extremely dangerous about a big market team stockpiling top 5 draft picks.
  18. The cubs snagged the #2 draft pick last year, the #1 international prospect this year, the #4 pick in next year's draft, and pulled in a very good haul for Matt Garza. They also picked up another top international player in Soler. I haven't see an up-to-date farm system ranking, but I get the feeling their farm system will be stacked in the years to come.
  19. When is someone going to start a postseason thread? Tonight's game technically is a regular season game, but the regular season is definitely over.
  20. I did, although I am not sure what can be added from within the organization. There is plenty of talent in the minors (plus Dempster + Doubront) but I don't think those guys will be reliable every single outing right now. I don't see the Red Sox resigning Bailey. Hanrahan is a possibility, but there are plenty of doubts there too. Brian Wilson on a one year deal would be nice, even at high AAV simply because his beard would fit well here. There are always overpays and bargains on relievers in free agency, Ben just needs to find his.
  21. Adding two reliable setup guys would be a significant upgrade. Adding McCann would be a significant upgrade. Introducing an unproven Japanese pitcher to the toughest division of hitters is not an upgrade for 2014, it is an upgrade for the years ahead.
  22. The Cherrington Seven were all good value pickups. Overpaying is overrated.
  23. What a best-case scenario. The two tougher wild card teams give it their all for an elimination game, fly to Cleveland for another game, and the winner flies to Boston for the ALDS to face a well-rested Red Sox team.
  24. He's signed for two more years with two more years of club options. They won't have to make a decision until they have a better grasp of his health.
  25. As a fan this offseason, many of us were clamoring for an ace, a #1 guy. Most of my suggestions were guys who weren't #1s, but had the potential to be... Josh Johnson, Peavy, both Santanas, short deals for guys like Liriano/Marcum. If Buchholz has a good postseason, creates a large amount of buzz, he could definitely be worth a good haul to someone, even if it is a GM trying to create their own buzz and sell tickets. Put this into perspective... When Josh Johnson, Reyes, and Buerhle were traded to the Jays, the group pulled in some very good talented. Josh Johnson was the only guy in that group who wasn't just a salary dump.
