    I think they have. It could possibly get better with a return of Beckett to more effectiveness and health of course. And Lackey needs to trend up. But really, this Sox rotation is starting to get really good.

    To tell you the truth, it's mostly how it played out. There were a number of incredible calls blown by umpires during that 2009 postseason and somehow it just would almost never be against the Yankees. The umpires would just miss something, just seemingly against the Yankees opponent or teams involved in the other playoff series. This is not some conspiracy theory, almost everything has to go a team's way to win a world championship. And the Yankees obviously worked hard for their championship. It's about a larger issue of bad umpiring and a lack of accountability by MLB umpires for their number of missed calls. I'm only thankful that umpires-- amazingly a crew that featured Joe West-- had the guts to make two correct calls in the 2004 ALCS that would have affected the outcome if not made correctly (or corrected). The Bellhorn homerun and Arod's "slapping" the ball out of the glove play at 1st, in old Yankee Stadium where umpires sometimes had trouble making the right call.

    Good. Because there were a number of blown calls in the 2010 playoffs, and somehow never against the Yankees. Edit: And sorry, obviously meant 2009 playoffs

    Lackey doesn't seem bothered by his pitching, he almost seems like he is indifferent to his lack of command. Hey, he secured that new deal already. As someone already said, he's Beckett-like. 4 more years after this!     *sorry, couldn't resist. But on a more serious note... I think this Rays team could really get their fanbase energized with a few changes. Change gametime to 4:30 pm, feature Early Bird Special night catered by Red Lobster. Have "Born in 1930 Night". And please hire George Costanza's father. Genius runs in the Costanza veins. Look what wonders George Costanza did for big Stein when he was a Yankee employee..
