  1. Nope, it's only hooking when you do it as a lifestyle, otherwise it's hustlin' sweetheart. In all seriousness, I just think it's funny when women get played, when men are so easy to manipulate.
  2. He's also a guy. I don't care who it is, male psychology is easy to exploit. You guys just don't know what you're talking about. I call that bluff all day, and if it's not a bluff, there's other money to be made. I wouldn't get thrown out, I'd be adios before he could say limp dick. I would not regret it either.
  3. I will maybe start to think he's declining if he starts this season off slow again and it becomes a trend, other than that I think most would agree at this point, there's very little to suggest it's anything other than a fluke. If he does it again, it becomes a concern for a negative trend. I fully expect to see 1.000 OPS Pujols next year.
  4. Lol, you have no idea. But intelligent women are the best hustlers there are. I would have that dude either spending the rest of the night with his hand or with a lot less money. It's that simple. If you're the girl, you have all the power in this situation.
  5. They're still stupid though, you ask for the cash up front. From an athlete that makes 20M a year, and who's as well off as Jete, that's well over sucky sucky fi-thousand dolla. You milk that for all it's worth. Not that I've done it, I'm just saying, if I'm selling what's good, I'm not selling it to anyone, and it's not going to be for chump change. For Jete, that s*** isn't just chump change, it's free. If that were me, trust me, Jeter would be going home a significantly less wealthy man, and I'd be going home knowing I don't have to work for a good amount of time.
  6. Sorry, but his OPS was in line with career averages in 2010, and for the majority of 2011. That's not dropping off dude. If you seriously think that he'll hit .750 for two months again then yeah, there is cause for concern I guess, but there's no rational way to back that up. I'll never convince you I'm sure, but there's no way in hell you can convince me that's a sign of a drop-off. So we can agree on disagreement I guess.
  7. To everyone who I defended John Lackey against, and I'm sure I was a ass about it too, I apologize. I feel herp derpy.
  8. I will never defend John Lackey again.
  9. Oh psych, Lackey is older LOL WTF, I so thought he was younger than that, that is a horrible contract. I didn't even realize that Lackey was 33 until just now. I absolutely change my stance on that dude 100% from what I would've said about 6 months ago, that he could still rebound, etc.
  10. eh, you can't really use the value-in-hindsight thing, and as for the years, Lackey is younger. I still don't see how you can justify one but not the other.
  11. I'm sorry, but how can you say you're opposed to the Lackey deal in hindsight, if you're not opposed to what Buehrle just got? Lackey was pretty much just like Buehrle during his tenure with the Angels, and their contracts are identical in all but the years. 116 ERA+ with 1.306 WHIP in 1,501 innings for Lackey vs. 120 ERA+ with 1.288 WHIP in 1,788.1 innings for Buehrle. Pretty much identical, and while Buehrle gets the edge but it's only slightly. Even in innings it would have been much closer had Lackey not pitched 3 incomplete seasons.
  12. And also, the Yankees got lucky with their dumpster diving. Most low risk high reward type deals are ones like the Beltre deal or that deal that the Angels got on Abreu. I'm all for dumpster diving though, for the right price, almost anyone is worth some sort of risk, though when it gets to be that good of a price, there really is no risk. Like Garcia and Colon were two guys who probably weren't going to turn out, but the price was so good and both of them did have a good amount of past success. Garcia was just plain lucky all year, and Colon was sort of cheating. Usually those gambles really aren't going to pay off. Remember the last time the Sox tried that with Penny and Smoltz. They ate total s*** on those deals. It adds up if the pricetag isn't really really good though.
  13. Unless you're going dumpster diving, you can't do much but overpay at the moment. I thought it was ridiculous when who was it, Gil Meche or something? When KC gave him that huge contract I think like 5 years ago? Now that's chump change. Every starting pitcher makes that much now.

    Hanley?

The Sox would never have those titles without Manny though. Sometimes there's enough talent involved where you can tolerate that crap.

    Hanley?

Hanley is a half-assing idiot with attitude problems. He's got great talent obviously, but Youk is better at this point from what I've seen. Hanley's obviously still got upside that Youk doesn't, and if he plays like he can, IMO he is one of the best players in baseball. Think of it though, a guy who's proven to have consistent 25-30 HR power, can hit well over .300 and steal 30 bases or more with his speed. He's still got that talent, he's just looked silly lately though. Sort of tempting, but it's a huge risk. He also put on all this weight so he could be a power hitter, and it effected his swing. Can he find his old swing? Lots of questions involved when you think about going after Hanley. We could very well have Hanley being Hanley s***. I can see it now.
  16. Jose Canseco got hit in the head with a fly ball, which then went over the fence for a home run. Don't trust that guy.
  17. If you believe Jose Canseco (or completely discredit the possibility of a juicer being in the HOF) you are naive too though.
  18. Anyone who is surprised is naive. Sorry, but no successful player will ever surprise me if they're busted. Wouldn't be shocked if Pujols was juicing either, but innocent until proven guilty or at least obviously guilty. I think Bonds is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt even though he's never been proven guilty. I will be pissed of a juicer makes it into the HOF before Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson, that's all I know.
  19. He hasn't dropped his OPS though. Just because Pujols hasn't led the league, are you serious? Just because Ted Williams didn't lead the majors with 1.4 OPS two straight years doesn't mean he was on the decline, so that's hole-in-logic number one. Number two, Pujols has not been trending downward. There is as much proof that Bautista or anyone else is declining as there is that Pujols is declining. It's a good question to ask, but the logic isn't there. Just because he's not leading the majors does not indicate jack s***.
