  1. As I added to my post above, players in contract years on average don't show any significant improvement. For every guy you could name that had a good contract year, I could name one that had a bad average contract year (Abreu, Renteria, Varitek, Cameron, Andruw Jones, etc.).
  2. Do you mean contract year? Epstein recently made comments about how on average players don't show any significant improvement in contract years and all the stats I've seen back him up.
  3. Last I checked, they play for other teams. Small detail
  4. Yeah, you're right. I got carried away, my bad.
  5. You're the third wheel here, attacking me for disagreeing with another poster because you're bitter that I disagreed with you about whether Lee or Beckett was the better pitcher going forward. Who's really the one send us on a pointless tangent here?
  6. Nope, you just posted I response I made to a completely different 700 post and acted as if it was a response to the 700 post above. Try again?
  7. That's what I thought
  8. It's no big deal. He can make all the empty claims he wants but I'm not going to get upset and start making personal insults against him. I'm just going to continue to ask him to put up or shut up and provide a single quote to back up anything that he's claimed that I've said.
  9. Sure, if you're delusional. I'll ask you the same thing I asked Doj. "Show a single post where I mentioned 1993/claimed I was intellectually superior to anyone/claimed that Clemens missed significant time or basically said anything else that you claimed that I said." Put up or shut up. I'm tired of the constant straw mans, give me a quote.
  10. Put up or shut up.
  11. He had to make it look like he was "winning" somehow :dunno:
  12. Show a single post where I mentioned 1993/claimed I was intellectually superior to anyone/claimed that Clemens missed significant time or basically said anything else that you claimed that I said.
  13. So basically, you've got nothing? You claimed I said that "Clemens was an unreliable starter due to all of his health and injury problems." I asked you to show a single post where I said that. So either put up or shut up.
  14. Yes, comparing Doj to FOX news was clearly serious business You're a trip.
  15. Nothing at all about the shoulder injury not preventing Clemens from being a reliable starter -- a horse. And I simply pointed out that your statement was untrue. No big deal, everyone makes mistakes.
  16. If you have nothing more to add to the discussion other than pictures and personal insults, feel free to step aside at any time now. This isn't FOX news.
  17. It is ridiculous. And it's also an obvious straw man. I challenge you to show a single post where I said that Clemens was an unreliable starter due to all his health and injury problems.
  18. Yes, that didn't sound bitter at all Your argument which consists of the fact that Beckett's shoulder may not be an issue because one of the major steroids users of all-time pitched into his 40's after shoulder injury is much more logical and comprehensive.
  19. You simply aren't the type to admit when you make a mistake, are you? You get bitter, claim the other person's post in which they proved you wrong is irrelevant and when they challenge you on it, you claim they lost the argument. Why so serious?
  20. Yes sensei. Forgive me for pointing out your factual innacuracies oh great one. You claimed: And I pointed out that he went on the DL with a shoulder injury in 1990. It's really not a big deal, everyone makes mistakes. Some people admit that they made a mistake and move on, others get upset and take it out on other people over the internet.
  21. I've never once mentioned postseason performance in this thread, you must have me confused with someone else. As for your other points, Lee isn't the pitcher he was in 2007. Do you judge Lester by his 2007 season too? And I reject the idea that lefties can't be successful in Fenway Park without striking out a bunch of batters. Frank Viola posted a 3.44 ERA for us in 1992 with a 4.5 K/9 and he then posted a 3.14 ERA for us the next year with a 2.6 K/9.
  22. Come on Lars, time to turn things around. We really need a prospect with some power.
