    Ken Pomeroy's stats has Arizona State #1 overall right now. Somehow I'm thinking that changes dramatically after today. But the big winner of tonight? Top 10-15 teams know the top 5 teams aren't that far ahead of them.

    Witherspoon fouling out is a blessing for Memphis. His defense has been terrible. 56-55 KU with 15.6 sec left.

    Iglesias is currently hitting .295/.348/.459. Impressive for a 19 year old SS with no professional experience who hasn't played organized baseball since he defected from Cuba over a year ago. He is above league average in the AFL (.278/.355/.436). Keep in mind he is playing with AA and AAA players. Expect him to open season at Portland next year.

    For Detroit to consider that the sox would need to add some prospects and the caliber of them would depend on Bostons willingness to take back a bad contract that Detroit has on there books, and theres plenty of them to choose from

    He's going to the Knicks. He's an egomaniac and wants to be "the man." He can resurrect a basketball team and a basketball town and become a global icon

    I'm all about going for Holliday but I question if we are going to shell out a 180 million for him. If we were not going to go that distance for a more complete player in Tex I'm not sure they will do it for Holliday.

    First of all, the Sox can't make an offer to any free agent until 15 days after the conclusion of the world series ... so November 20th at the earliest. Second of all, he's pretty much a DH only at this point so I don't really believe this. I'd say it's just posturing by his agent for the NYY to lock him up to a contract by saying "If you don't sign him, your rival to the north will, there's already a multi-year contract offer on the table from Boston"

    What about Uggla at SS? He played 2B, SS, and 3B in college and in the minors. Just something to talk about. He pulls a lot of balls so his doubles would rise playing a little bit of wall ball and he is a right handed power hitter who averages 30 hr playing most of his home games in a cavernous ballpark in Miami and he isn't even 30 years old yet ...

    Not sure where to put this but Gammons just put this on his twitter. Was Brad Mills offered the Astros managerial position?

    Pedro can't pitch a full season anymore, signing him after the all star break is a different equation, but I'm not sure he can keep up with not only the AL East but the AL in general. When signing free agents you really have to keep your sentiments, heart, and past memories out of the equation (ex. Nomar)
