  1. This is unusual. Three "elder members" on the thread. How cool. Greetings to my contemporary on the Cape. I'll be in Falmouth tomorow.
  2. Must have been "lost in the moment".
  3. This kid would look totally f***ing awesome in a Sox uni. He'd love it here too! I predict arm trouble for him because of his slight build. I hope not. Baseball needs more like him.
  4. This game provides one stop shopping for the Sox FO.
  5. Even if this game sucks a rat's ass, at least we have YOTN here tonight. Bound to be entertainement!
  6. While the line-ups are being introduced, I'd like to take the opportunity to welcome you all. That's my big contribution to the board, as you know! Seriously, I want to say how much I value being able to speak with all of you. Sharing a passion for the game with others, especially the the members of Talksox, is a very enjoyable experience. I am privileged. Enjoy the game! Can I say GO SOX?
  7. Sound planning by our Super Mod. One thread for everything related to the Mid-Summer Waste Of Time. AL, 5-3.
  8. I think it would really be interesting to see Ellsbury run against other speed demons. Outfielders throwing home for accuracy?
  9. I'd really like to see some kind of skills competition. Something that evolved speed. Maybe we could see how fast runners get to first and and around the bases. Maybe a throwing accuracy event. Anything that would reveal the athleticism of the players.
  10. I think I read somewhere that the Marlins are interested in Ryan.
  11. For the sake of this discussion I'm going to assume all the players stay healthy As difficult as it appears to be to find a dominant left handed pitcher, I'd go with Youk. He plays every day, can play GG 3rd and 1st base, and occasional LF. He is an on-base machine that has good power. He is an impact player that has an impact on just about every game. Not just every 5th game.
  12. Pathetic swing by Aroid. Sox go into the break 3 games up.
  13. Francona said this was just to set-up the rotation after the break. My question is this. What happens to Buck after his start? He has only one option left?
  14. That was almost comical. What was Baldelli doing? He can still run, can't he?
  15. I was just kidding. But I seem to remember at least one instance where Kapler finished a game at 3rd for the Sox. Most importantly, His wife is prime quiff.
