  1. He says he wants a rematch! I think that horse is glue by now.
  2. Now the game is in English!!! Did you guys see the Tejada dribbler in front of the plate? I've seen some screwy stuff this year.
  3. I'd be very surprised if the Sox were to release Ortiz. The question of his ability to hit still remains and they will be reluctant to take the publicity hit. Plus, they get nothing of value when cutting a player guaranteed $12. mil.
  4. I just tuned in and am watching on MLB. The game is being announced in Spanish. Commercials are in English. What a bargain. 3-0 Yankees.
  5. And what can we expect when they come back? I have low expectations for Cameron as it is. So I won't be disappointed if his "abdominal strain" (or whatever it is) continues to hinder his play. It's the health status of Ellsbury that will have a major impact on this team. I was looking forward to seeing what Ellsbury was going to do this year at the plate. Especially with Mcnoodle Glove OBP king hitting 9th. The Sox allowed Ellsbury to travel with the team on this road trip so he could "increase the intensity of baseball activities." This was just plain dumb. It foreshadows a return to an active roll before the ribs are healed and will likely protract the recovery to full health. Anyone who has had broken ribs or is a Doctor would likely agree. His activity is limited by his tolerance for pain and discomfort. How much pain will he experience when he has to face live pitching and swing? How about running when he has to fill his lungs? How about sliding into second? How about laying out for a sinking liner? Rest is what the kid needs -now.
  6. f*** Cameron. This team needs Ellsbury.
  7. What are the Seadogs going to do with 4 catchers on the Roster?
  8. He's only had 62 AB in Portland and he has yet do do anything in Pawtucket. Let's see how he does there before projecting a major role with the Red Sox this year.
  9. It's funny, no one ever seems to say anything bad about Mo Rivera. Even Sox fans respect that he is great and still going strong. How can you "hate' this Yankee? Still, everyone has a skeleton in their closet. Maybe he's a pedophile, woman beater, or juicer? :D
  10. Why would the Sox move a 5'9" player to 1st base? Maybe he has arms like an orangutan and has a 38" vertical leap? I doubt many here have ever seen the kid play. And it seems there is not a lot of detailed info on him. Everything is speculation at this point. The Sox have two or three decent catcher prospects at the lower levels. Maybe they decided they want another one and may consider moving one of the existing ones in a mid-season deal? Who really knows?
  11. YES!!!!!!! .500 at last! Great pitching.
  12. Filmed in 2000, it followed three players while playing for the AAA Indianapolis Guardians for the season. Scutaro, Mica Franklin, and a pitcher whose name I can't remember. It's excellent. NESN showed it several times.
  13. I only know this from having seen "A Player To Be Named Later". Which I highly recommend. In fact, Scutaro said in that documentary, that people would assume he was "American" when he first came to this country.
  14. It has been a pleasant game thread.
  15. At 106 it was 60 something 40 something. I'm a big help, I know!
  16. Done. Bard for the 8th?
