  1. For now he may be. But it is trial by fire for the kid. The Sox need his defense and have no other option other than Vic to center and either Gomes or Nava in right. We just have to live with it now until the Sox make a move.
  2. Good deal for the Tigers. Kinsler is playing very well.
  3. Unless they both land with the same team elsewhere.
  4. He is the catcher of choice for Lester.
  5. And that is why Ross is Lester's personal catcher. Those stats don't in any way indicate one way or another an answer to the question.
  6. Holt is said to be a AAAA player. Never the less, he has shown effort and pretty good results with the Sox SO FAR.
  7. Holt doing his best to try to gain a full time gig in the bigs.
  8. Bogey goes yahd! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
  9. I have heard Lackey say that AJ calls a really good game. He has said this at least two times. But who knows. They just seem to be missing their spots. It's pretty much the perfect storm of suck for the entire team now.
  10. A lazy and cheap FO can do the trick.
  11. Maybe the rain will pick up and this game can be suspended before 5 innings.
  12. Sox still in it! 2-1 Jays after one inning.
  13. Well all will be better when the weather heats up!!!!!
  14. Back to back HR. 2-0 Jays. Lol
  15. I'm not worried about potentially "blocking" prospects like Ciccini. They are prospects, not sure things.
  16. What is the big deal in moving X to 3rd now? It's not like he has shown great promise at short this season. Maybe some people believe that he is a natural SS but I certainly do not. His range ( at least to the left ) is inadequate. His footwork is marginal and while he has good arm strength, he has yet to learn how to make accurate throws from the hole. I'm not convinced that he is not better off at 3rd now and long term. If he has to be in the lineup everyday it might as well be with Drew playing SS. This way the Sox have a much better middle defense and X can be covered by Drew's range to his right. Boo effing who if Bogey's feelings are hurt by this move. The idea is to field the best team possible and TRY to win games. Not to message a rookie's ego. And, I don't buy into the "idea" of building a good young team for the future. Yes, I want as many of the Sox prospect to prosper and be productive for many years in a Boston uniform. But this desire is tempered by my desire to see the Sox win NOW. To think that all these young players are going to add up to a championship team in the future is just foolish conjecture. The Sox, with a few tweaks, can make a run at the post season NOW. And in Boston, this is what is required. Unless you have not lived here very long. Peavy may be gone, Lackey may be gone, and Lester may be gone in 2015. What good will it do to have a promising rookie brigade then if we haven't the horses to compete for a title? I say go for it now, not wait for the "future".
  17. Oye. It's raining in lovely downtown North Attleboro. Maybe the Sox can benefit from a day off now? I'd just as soon see them play so I hope the rain subsides.
  18. That would be nice but I suspect it will not happen.
  19. Maybe so but I miss reading Pete Abraham each day. I used to read the printed version of the Globe each day for many years. Now I refuse to pay for it because most of what I could read there is available on line for "free". Really, The Globe has screwed up by having two on-line pages with ads. I'll read the "free" one, thank you.
  20. Which makes me scratch my head. Do you think that the Sox could have offered this and kept Salty? Maybe even less? What harm would it have done to keep him here 3 years? At worst, he would be a quality back up to Vasquez. I don't get it, I guess.
  21. It does not matter what McCann is doing. It's what our catchers are doing that matters. The Sox made a mistake. Period.
  22. Tor: M. Buehrle (7-1, 2.11 ERA) Bos: J. Lester (4-5, 2.67 ERA) There is a very good chance the Sox loose for a 7th straight time. Pitiful!!!! But hey, GO SOX! 4:00 PM start.
