    I'm down with this. I don't understand the skepticism. I think he needs ample playing time to get his batting in order.

    How about Mookie? Last night on live tv Lou Merloni posed the idea that Mookie may have damaged an Oblique muscle. He said that if this is the case Mookie may be out for months. Swinging a bat with an injured oblique is impossible. Mookie could even be done for the season. Now before everyone lays into Merloni about what an idiot he is we should consider that he is closer to the source of the story than many people and certainly anyone on this board. In the absence of details coming from the Sox and no explanation why little is being said about the injury by them this idea carries some weight. I hope this is not the case. But you never know. The Sox are being very much like Belichick.

    Gee, is it possible that the perception that Blake can't block ball in the dirt may have anything to do with catching Wright? Almost all of you have no recollection of this. Or at least you have never mentioned it. I have said this several times in the past 2 years. Unfortunately I am not savy in gathering this info. Swi also hit well the second half of 2015 but you all insist in saying "what has he done in 5 years of minor league ball to show he can hit?" Lol. Okay. He was a 1st round pick for a reason. He can hit. Thanks Moon for finding that info.

    Yeah 6'5' and 245 he sounds like a 1st baseman by the time he makes it to Fenway.

    So the question is at what position will Casas be developed. He was drafted as a 3rd baseman but has played 1st. Maybe the Sox will think big and move him to catcher. They have had so much luck with that move!

    I agree. I wonder if Swihart will catch for Wright. How important are game calling and pitch framing with a knuckleballer? As long as he can keep the past balls to a minimum and deal well with wild pitches I think he'll do fine.

    Moreover, sending him down would allow him to get more defensive reps which he needs to get better. But it would also deprive him of seeing a steady diet of MLB pitching. This can only be had in MLB. Stay the course unless he falls off a cliff into sub-Mendoza land and stays there.

    Well does anyone remember Lester's facial expression during his Oakland press introduction? He looked none too pleased. I think that he was blind sided by the trade and while he may have been looking for more money in free agency, he was not looking to leave Boston. I have no way of substantiating that view. In any case, the Sox blew that. Thanks Ben!
