  1. Right. Posting an opinion is one thing. But proclaiming your opinion as fact without the ability to substantiate your claim is just asking to be called out.
  2. It bothers me because there is no way of substantiating the claim, rather, opinion. I have no idea how Farrell runs his camps and how it may differ from the way other managers prepare their teams. I suspect that no one on this board does, either. The Sox had a lousy season for many reasons in 2014. I have not heard from any source that a lax camp was one of them.
  3. Ugh. Stats can also help one predict future performance. Please note that I said "help". If not, no one would bother with them.
  4. I posted "what" because Iortiz's original post made no sense. Not because I was attacking him. I merely wanted to understand what he was attempting to say. Now that he has edited the post I can understand what he said and I have responded with a non-confrontational post. Oye.
  5. Okay. I understand what you tried to say. I would think that if any Sox ST game were being broadcast by NESN that it would be shown on MLB as well. Maybe more Yankee games are being broadcast on YES?
  6. What a pussy.
  7. I'm not debating this topic. I made a simple observation. I agree that clutch is not something that is not repeatable or quantifiable. It's just someone making a good play at an opportune moment.
  8. Clutch is just one word used to describe something good happening in a key moment.
  9. Fred made a comment about how he suspects Farrell is running a boys camp or something like that. Sort of what he said about ST last year. I don't know how he came to that conclusion from his house in Los Angeles. It's a little early to be calling any aspect of this ST camp or the team a failure, I'd say.
  10. Does anyone question that Betts is ready for MLB? I don't. That kid can hit. I think that the Sox need to find a way to have him in the lineup. Regardless of how much they spent on Castillo, if he is not a better player than Betts and could benefit from time in AAA he should be sent down. He is still a prospect in my eyes regardless of his age and contract. The Sox have no problem having a guy in MiLB after signing him to a $63. mil deal. How is Castillo any different? The best team possible should be on the field everyday. That is how you have the best chance of winning.
  11. Not really. Horseface is a standing joke around here. Pruneface is a G rated version of what I call Henry!
  12. I though he was likely headed to Oakland. Hmmm. I don't know.
  13. Racism?

I was wondering when a comparison to Archibald would be used. I saw Tiny Archibald play many, many times. There really is no comparison other than they are able to both score and distribute the ball. Tiny was not so tiny!!! He had a good 3 inches on this Thomas. Archibald was one of the most prolific offensive players I ever saw. He led the league in scoring and assists. He was legend in New York park and summer league play. His talent was largely wasted in towns like KC Omaha. But he did get to play with the great Sam Lacey!!!!!!!
  15. Yeah but I want to call Henry Pruneface. It fits. Just like calling Tex Horseface. Or Lackey, for that matter.
  16. What happened to Bryce Brentz? Has he totally faded from potential glory? From what I saw of him he looked to have a decent bat. Is he still playing with guns?
  17. He had a cool name.
  18. I read that the Jays had already decided to cover the Saunders loss with an internal candidate. Do the Angels have any outfield depth? And if the Sox were to make a deal with one of these two teams, who would be coming back to Boston in return?
  19. Napoili sees a lot of pitches. Therefore it should not surprise anyone that he Ks.
  20. There is virtually no difference when both are not hitting their weight. Craig's history of hitting may console some and lead them to believe that he can do it again. Until he hits again he is the same as Bradley.
  21. I only said the big three are pukes. I never said that I did not believe that they are competent owners. They just rub me the wrong way.
  22. Well if you watch Bradley and say that "he will never hit" then you have to conclude the same thing when watching Craig. Regardless of his record. The guy was lost.
  23. I think all three front office guys are pukes.
  24. I've never seen Graig hit. He was awful last year. He says his foot injury had nothing to do with it. Who knows? It's funny. I read many people talking about three years of decline in offense for Pedroia ( all associated with significant injury ). Few expect Pedroia to ever be anywhere near what he has been at the plate ever again. At the same time many people are expecting Craig to revert to form and be productive again. I'm putting my money on Pedroia.
