  1. I was not attacking you or anyone on this board. I just do not believe the hype and rationalization for a weird and incomplete off season of roster building.
  2. I was not aware that today's game was on tv so I did not see Buch pitch. But he looked like crap in a previous outing when it was said that he had a strong outing. He was tagged in that game even if the stat line did not indicate it. I think anyone that believes that Buch at 30 is about to put it all together is way too optimistic. Or even has their head up their ass. He's a .500 pitcher at best. The flashes of brilliance were tantalizing but that's it. If a fan can say after that a hitter can not and never will hit after one almost full season of MLB ball then I feel justified in saying Buch will never be a productive major league pitcher. Of course I hope that I am wrong. He sucks donkey dicks and that is that.
  3. Yikes. Mookie is on fire. Conversely, in 6 combined at bats Sandoval and Castillo saw only 12 pitches. No hits.
  4. 12 hits and 4 runs in 5 innings and 96 pitches is pretty good? I guess that I really have to lower my standards
  5. I see no way that this Sox team will be elite defensively. Castillo is still an unknown. Betts is still raw in the outfield. Victorino stands more of a chance of being a no show than the GG he was. Hanley could be worse than Gomes. Vasquez may need TJS or a long DL stint. Napoli is very good but will he regain health and keep it? Pedroia is who he is. As long as he is healthy he will be great. Tub of goo is poor moving to his left where a proven substandard performer plays SS. Not sure about the Pitchers. I don't buy into the hype at all.
  6. Can never have enough pitching depth. As much as I like Masterson I think he will get lit up this year. I have no faith in Buch or Kelly either.
  7. I disagree. I would love to see Craig hit as he did in his two hot years. I just do not see it as likely now. I'd rather see Hanley at 1st next year if Napoli is not resigned.
  8. He has not hit well in almost two years and plays only average defense at any position. Maybe stiff is harsh. Maybe "Unremarkable" is better suited. In any case I see him as redundant and non-essential on the Boston 25 man roster. Ship him out unless he absolutely rakes.
  9. I'm with you on this. Unfortunately it looks like he will be playing for someone else. I enjoy watching him play CF. He seems to make at least one exciting play each game he starts. I love it when someone runs on his arm. THAT is exciting baseball.
  10. He is. It is bad enough to listen to what he says. I usually do not like what he says. But that high pitched screech of a voice!!! It's so irritating. He sound like he has had a tracheotomy.
  11. I agree. He may be a top prospect but he does have work to do. At least behind the plate. Let the kid mature and learn the game properly. He has skills that need more work.
  12. My guess is that someone will grab him too high so neither of our teams will have a shot at deciding to take that risk in an appropriate spot. I admit that I am not very familiar with the draft. I just look at who the Sox draft and then try to follow them afterwards.

  14. While I still hold some hope that Kelly will be useful, I agree. It is interesting that Lackey has chosen to play for the minimum this year. One member here had said that he would have refused to do the same for the Sox. Having Lackey, Porcello, and Miley sounds a lot better to me. His 2-2.5 year of outstanding production especially with RISP not withstanding, Craig is a stiff.

  16. I would hope that the Sox would be smart enough to trade Nava and to not just DFA him. He has value.
  17. This does not fit the chart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Excellent data Pal. Especially the bold part.
  19. AND, we still have no clear idea who Craig and Castillo will turn out to be. Stashing a talent like JBJ is a good idea unless the Sox get a good deal on a more glaring need.
  20. I'm down with this too! Depth is good! Especially when a player is as adept at one aspect of his game as this kid. But he is my binky so keep that in mind!
  21. I'm with you on everything you said Kimmi except for the bolded words. I would rephrase it thusly! "He may not ever become an offensive Cfer". None of us really know. Except for Fred!
  22. Yup the hype on Betts has been massive. And for once, it seems justified. Betts is a much better athlete that Boegarts. It is that simple. However what really sets him apart from X is his batting eye and approach. Now we all know that I do not have 30 years of high school coaching experience. I saw several Pawtucket games and all of the MLB games Betts played. Two things stuck out. His ability to put good wood on the ball and his speed. He is no Ellsbury on the base paths but is easily the fastest player on the Sox. I expect a sophomore slump. But as you said, I expect him to make the adjustments quickly and become a premier lead-off hitter and game changer.
  23. Meanwhile flabby needs to use a walker to get to the mound and the bulk of the Yankees rotation is covered in gauze and loaded with anti-inflammatory meds. No way in hell have I exaggerated!
  24. I never heard that he would not miss a start. In fact, it was discussed the day he was pulled from the game. Where did you hear that?
