  1. You took the words right out of my mouth.
  2. More of what Porcello actually is. Not spectacular, but good overall.
  3. . True. But I think it's important to try to identify the best possible purchase since the price will be high. I am of the opinion that the Sox will target a mid rotation guy this summer. I don't think the Sox want to spend big with prospects. I hope not! I say go after the big guns in FA this winter. Not sure who they will be, of course.
  4. I understand it much better now Kimmi. I just don't know how it can be strictly luck. An unlikely and uncommon record, an aberration. But luck seems to say " we can't explain this so it must be luck."
  5. So talking about erections is okay but talking about taking a s*** is not.
  6. Sox have won 9 of their most recent 27 games. I know I'm scene as a gloom and doomer but does anyone else still believe that this team could end up "at or about .500" for the season? There is no magic wand or silver bullet to fix this rotation. External options will be crazy expensive in prospect costs. I say wait for the off-season and make a run at some free agent starters. This team also needs to get healthy again. One more thing. He may be the second coming of Will Middlebrooks but Brentz can hit in the majors.
  7. Wasn't Daniel Bard home grown?
  8. MiLB player of the year last year. 15-6 with a 1.+ era last year. Tampa always seems to have outstanding talent coming up.
  9. It's none of our business, of course, but has Speir ever been laid?
  10. Nice throw by Layne.
  11. Brentz hitting is no surprise to those who have followed him through his MiLB career.
  12. "If you don't start pitching like a man all 24 of us are going to make you our bitch in the shower."
  13. I've been saying that long too. Ever since they dumped Lester and Lackey.
  14. I just don't understand why this is so. We had one of the best that was fired and now we have Kenny Rodgers who is supposed to be good as well. All along we have had Farrell who was a pitcher and supposedly an excellent pitching coach. What's the deal when you have that kind of staff and can't help what ails your pitchers? Basically we just start with low quality pitchers and hope for the best. Just my opinion.
  15. Four of us are saying the same thing. But there are people on this board that will say he needs more chances. For what? More of this stuff?
  16. E-Rod does indeed belong in Pawtucket now. He is not ready. And you can't live on two pitches at his ability level. This is why I say this team needs two starters. I don't think that this rotation will be improving anytime soon.
  17. If any "have" team can lose a series to a "have not" team, It's our Sox right now.
  18. I differ from you on this. Dumping Lester and Horseface was just dumb in the first place. To me, they executed a dumb plan and had predictably bad results from those dumb plans. No shock there. Did they just want to get younger and cheaper / controlled in the rotation? If so, why do it all at once? They made the wrong move and the consequences are long lasting.
  19. Yup. This is where the Sox are. Regurgitating schlock.
  20. Nothing but truth in this post.
  21. I don't understand what you are asking me.
  22. How does your stat indicate luck as being the driver of their success? That is a good team ( with unhealthy pitching at the moment ).
  23. I don't feel any despair. The Sox are following my projected arc for their 2016 season.
