Just the opposite. People who understand UZR know it's not a reliable stat. People who don't understand it worship it. As far as range goes, nobody said Lowell has more range than Beltre. But range isn't all there is to defense. At third base, properly handling balls hit to you is more important than an extra two feet of range.
