  1. Gotta love Johnny Damon's arm.
  2. Damn it. I had benched Johnny Damon.
  3. Also, to Schilling's point, the Bruins and Flyers aren't necessarily rivals. I wouldn't consider them rivals at all for that matter. While the Yankees choked against their arch rivals who went on to end their 86 year title drought. Now, if the Flyers went on and won the Stanley Cup, this "upset" might gain recognition. In addition, the 2004 Yankees were a much better team than the 2010 Bruins (no offense), so having a 7 seed upsetting a 6 seed, however the manner, in which they are not rivals, isn't that big, no matter how hard Jacko tries. If that isn't enough, this was in hockey. Baseball is a much bigger sport than hockey and a meltdown in baseball is significantly worse than one in hockey.
  4. Thank you Schilling, that was my point but nobody addressed it.
  5. If Joe Mauer can stay with the Twins, I have faith that LeBron won't end up in NY. Besides, can't Cleveland give LeBron the most money because of the max-contract rule?
  6. I'm going to say Cleveland first, then Chicago, and then New York. Those seem like the only realistic possibilities. One of my roomates (a Knicks fan) thinks that he'll definitely go to NY, but I figure that he'd want to go to a good team first, or at least one that doesn't totally suck ass.
  7. It isn't our fault that he got banned (again)
  8. I think that Gom is the only one who frequently mentions draft position. He felt that he ripped me off by trading Ubaldo Jimenez for Bobby Abreu, and he wanted Greinke and Jimenez for A-rod primarily because of draft position. And this is one of many bad trades in which Gom has ripped someone off and one of many more bad offers. This one just happened to be accepted instead of laughed at.
  9. A few things. 1. You are currently 20-23-7 (9th) 2. Your opponent this week is 17-29-4 (13th) 3. You're only up 6-3-1 (not exactly destroying) 4. There is plenty of action left tonight and tomorrow. 5. I'd be beating you 8-2 this week.
  10. I have a feeling that a Reynolds for Chipper trade would have 10 team vetoes.
  11. So next year I take it that Gom won't/can't be the commissioner?
  12. Depends on what kind of ugly.
  13. The good news is that David Ortiz has a 7 game hitting streak. The bad news is that once again I had JD Drew on my bench.
  14. I remember when Bruins fans were giving me crap earlier in the thread saying that we were done.
  15. Hell yeah Flyers, many people thought that you guys were done, but we came down from 3 games to none, and from 3-0 in game 7. Snap.
  16. If you keep asking stupid questions and repeating the same stupid garbage regardless of what has been addressed and refuted in the thread, then this is, and will continue to be, a waste of time. I'm done wasting my time on you.
  17. I agree Yankees. I think that it is arbitrary and different people have different definitions of it. For example, a pitcher might think that it's not ok after 5 runs while the batter thinks that a problem only arises when it's done after 6 runs. The batter would think that he's fine when the pitcher does not. In my case, I don't think it's ok to bunt to break up a nohitter/perfect game period, regardless of the score. And to defend my point, I never heard of not throwing at a batter's head as being an unwritten rule. I guess that explains why I was kicked out of little league.
  18. Now it's the 7th inning of a 3-0 deficit and through 6 2/3 innings we only have 2 hits. And they are both by Ortiz. While we're at it, the opposing runs might as well have been scored by Julio f***** Lugo.
  19. It's an unwritten rule for a reason. Because enough people agree that it's a cheap and dirty thing to do. Just because you're cheap and dirty doesn't mean that the rest of the world doesn't acknowledge that it's something that you just don't do. It makes A-rod look classy. And in response to the bolded: Bulls***. That's pretentious and misguided. You have no idea who'd win in the court of law. You can cry all you want but it's an unwritten rule because most people disagree with you. Repeating yourself millions of times that it isn't hurting anyone isn't going to change the fact that most people think it's cheap and dirty and that you just don't do it. And bunting is worse than a bloop single or infield hit because it's intentional. It's intentionally and deliberately trying to break up a no hitter by being cheap because conventional batting isn't working. You can include all of the exclamation points and all of the fluff that you like, but it doesn't change that you're nearly by yourself on an island with your thumb up your a** while the majority thinks you're f***** nuts. So you're against hitting people in the head because it's against an unwritten rule but you're not against bunting to break up a no hitter or stealing bases with a large lead even though they are against unwritten rules? Make up your mind. It's one thing to be ignorant and incorrect, but it's another thing to be hypocritical on top of it.
  20. I'm not whining. I'm just pissed off that Wakefield is having an amazing outing and has f***** s*** to show for it. And I simply pointed out how f***** up it is that Ortiz has our only hit. All I did was defend Whiskeybreath.
