  1. And the US conceeds another early goal. Kevin Prince Boateng in the 5th minute. Looks like the US has to play from behind yet again.
  2. You can hear fans chanting "U-S-A, U-S-A". Also, Ghana's only goals in the World Cup thus far have been from penalty kicks, and the referee has only issued 4 cards (all yellow) in his 2 matches in this World Cup. This should favour the US a bit.
  3. Good luck vs. Ghana guys.
  4. Also, one of the announcers gave the Celtics a shoutout, saying that they were his favourite team and using the "defense wins championships" formula.
  5. Uruguay takes a 2-1 lead on South Korea in the 80th minute on a nasty goal by Luis Suarez (his 2nd of the game). Uruguay scored in the 7th minute and South Korea had tied it in the middle of the 2nd half. The 2nd goal by Suarez looks to seal it.
  6. I think he's getting a pap smear.
  7. I have a couple of questions. First, can somebody explain to me why all 4 of Ben Sheets runs are earned? I understand why the first, third, and last runs are earned, but the 2nd run occurred when, according to Yahoo, "R Doumit safe on first baseman D Barton's fielding error, A McCutchen scored". Both yahoo and espn have all 4 of Sheet's runs as earned. Shouldn't Ben Sheets then be 6 IP 3 ER? Shouldn't it be a quality start? My other question (as you can tell, they have fantasy implications) is in the Royals/Cardinals game. In the 9th inning, Ludwick reached on catcher's interference, and later scored. Greinke was responsible for the run, and yahoo said that he had 2 runs, 1 ER, while ESPN marked both runs as earned. Which one is correct? Edit: For reference, mlb.com also has Greinke's run as unearned, however, it has Sheet's run as earned.
  8. I figured that Dontrelle Willis or Dice-K would get a no-hitter before Edwin Jackson. I'm guessing that no-hitting the Rays should only count as half a no-hitter at this point.
  9. Who is Rocco Mediate?
  10. I don't know, but I bet that being a scout for the Nuggets is as easy of a job as being a weatherman in San Diego.
  11. I wanted the Spurs to get him. I'm happy that we got James Anderson at the 20th pick, but I really wanted Solomon Alabi at 49, and it doesn't help that he got taken IMMEDIATELY thereafter to the Mavericks at 50. F***.
  12. That's what I thought about the Birdman.
  13. I don't know, Scalabrine was a fan favourite. Who else on the 2010 team could the Boston fans relate to?
  14. Giambi is killing us.
  15. I'd love to get either Mike Adams or Luke Gregerson from San Diego. Hell, we could use them both.
  16. A consistent scorer off the bench would certainly improve the Celtics, and Texas combo guard Avery Bradley has the potential to fill that role. Bradley lacks prototypical size for a shooting guard or the ability to get to the rim like a point guard, but he's a consistent perimeter shooter and a fierce defender. -- This was on the Yahoo pick by pick analysis.
  17. I remember when we set the record for the longest gamethread. I think we set it sometime last year.
  18. MSU, your homeboy Jarvis Varnado went #41 to the Miami Heat.
  19. Boston Celtics take Avery Bradley from Texas.
  20. Nope, I'm following the NBA draft and premiere of the new season of Futurama.
  21. Starting Dice-K vs. the Rockies in Coors Field? That's risky dude. Were there no better options available via FA?
  22. I don't know, losing a game in that manner is a real kick in the balls. With a steel toed boot.
  23. Matt Cain is getting murdered by the Astros. God damn it. First Garza, then Jimenez, now this.
  24. I couldn't imagine being the loser of a match like that. I'd probably retire.
  25. God damn it Italy. Looks like they are out early as well. I'd even allow France back it if it meant keeping Italy in the World Cup. Then again, they most likely wouldn't win anyway, so I'd rather that they lose now and get it over with.
